  • mine made 147hp/150tq all stock but the aem intake that came with the car. and its s14 motor with the 232/232 cams

  • can someones give an advice I bought a 92 coupe and I haven't really decided to go for the SR20 swap or ... turbo the ka24 it has ..... any advice, price, performance

  • @ch2onic well... it has more than 200k miles and I don't know how more because, it doesn't count miles, I bought it like that... I think I should go with the ka first, rebuild it to make it something like 0 miles xD

    new forged, pistons, rods, have the head done ect ect.... then, Turbo, besides I would be my first turbo project, it could be fun :p

    then if everything goes well... who knows maybe I could buy another s13 and swap a sr20 xD

  • @Chispiolo nice thats what i would personally do KAs are good motors just not as plentiful with aftermarket as the SR and a tad bit heavier but if you geter over 300hp you gonna wanna do a conversion to some 300zx brakes /5 lugs

  • @ch2onic Yes, I did a lot of research , everything is Sr this Sr that, everyone does the swap, I want to be one of those who have faith in their KAs and beat the crap out of an Sr, if I have the oportunity :)

  • @IRONMANREDNGOLD my 92 wouldent go past 200 kmph so checked the wire schematic and cut a wire that went to my comp and i read it can go up to 240- 250 kmph and my gauges still work XD made a vid on how i did it but yours is a 95 so i would check some sites for your car might be a lill diffrent

  • That's not low for a KA, that's about right for a stock DOHC. that's to the Wheels.

  • prolly about 150 at the engine. you lose like 20% thru the wheels.

  • i think either way, it could be your gedaring too. the variables are endless. more horses, less torque, less horses more torque. most of hte time. thats why my grampas unstoppble ruston diesel only made 90 hp, but made close to 20K lb ft of torque.

  • Yeah, you are right about variables. Diff oil, possible diff malfunction, shaft wobble, bearings...etc.

    I have never heard of having that drastic of a difference in hp and torque numbers. I thought hp and torque are pretty close in numbers.

    Learn something new everyday I guess. :D

  • yeah, haha, but they are your average bolt ons...not anything to write home about ^_^

  • no but with a proper exhaust headers and intake ud be surprised at the results. read the import tuner feature on this. ull c what i mean. stock ka hit 122whp and 117lbft. with the thre bolt ons (intake headers and cat back exhaust) it went to 137hp and 132lbft. I makes a difference bro trust me. the ka is a pretty responsive motor to mods.

  • hmm...ill look into it...my motor is very healthy with good compression, and no running issues...keep in mind the dyno used was a dynometer, not a dynojet or a mustang dyno...this thing was called "the heartbreak dyno"...i was definitely dissapointed, but the more i looked into it...the more its actually on target...

    oh well...doesn't matter now *cough ka-t cough*

  • i see. nice post some vids of that. im trying to build my s14 zenki all motor. i was considering the sr20de, but the ka24de has so much more torque. as a grip car that matters more than high revs. lets see how much mine dynos in. i think import tuner did their runs on the mustang dyno. dont remember but i can get back to u about that. its supposed to be the 'ego breaker'.

  • your catalytic converter must be plugged lol, cuz that sounds as weak as when my 240sx was constipated lol. get a full exhaust system and ull be around the 155hp :)

  • It's not plugged. You guys really need to start doing research about the difference between wheel horsepower and "crank horsepower that is claimed by Nissan when the car was brand new and had no internal carbon buildup". It is also a full exhaust.

  • well u have to factor in ur 240sx is older than my s14 zenki. and im guessing the 170k is in miles? if not then i dunno but im expecting maybe or 3 whp better. but that run was on full exhaust? as in modded exhaust?
