I love this game. Maya is a jerk though! D: But she whips my butt into shape... it's my moms Wii so I haven't been working out since I've started college... I kinda miss her yelling at me!
Great review, exactly what you need before buying.
Can you tell me, can you toggle all the music off and just leave voice and soundfx on?
Any way to flag/tag exercises that you cannot do? Permanently on your profile or every time you play? If not what do you do if she starts an exercise that you cannot do eg due to back problems or pregnancy?
It doesn't, hence the tutorial mode that you can repeat over and over again until you have a move down pat. It's not just a DVD though since there's actually a processor behind the scenes crunching numbers and dynamically adjusting what you're doing.
I probably fit most of that description minus the couch potato part. I actually speedwalk a lot and run up and downstairs despite being born under the sign of the Michelin Man. :-P The folks I work with wonder why I haven't had a heart attack yet. :-D Exercise never hurts, unless you overdo it and hurt yourself. LOL. :-)
That's actually one of my few criticisms of "my fitness coach" -- i can't tell it I have a bad back and to avoid certain exercises. I guess the one thing that can't be stressed enough is (1) consult a doctor before beginning any exercise plan (2) use your best judgment ((3) quitting is always an option). I still curse at Maya. Heck, I cursed at my trainer when he would make me do planks for days.
This "game" is a REAL workout, not a gimicky game. MANY types of workouts in multiple combinations preventing boredom and with great results. It's the equivalent of 30+ workout DVD's.
Only I would perhaps add exercises using the Wiimote and nunchuck plus more on nutrition, estimate caloric requirements to reach individual goals. The tips are great, but I think more is needed nutrition is as important as the exercise.
I love this program and happily recommend it to anyone who is interested :)
well u only use the wii remote to set up your workout time and select music etc. you dont need it for the actual game...shes just a virtual personal trainer so its like u are watching a fitness video and you mimic the excercises. i have seen great results so i recommend it
The Wiimote is basically a pointer. You don't need to use any controllers for anything in-game. It's basically a workout-DVD with a computer behind it. :-)
I'm taking a yoga class at school right now. From what I learned so far, yoga can be done in multiple different ways because there are so many types of yoga, such as the physical poses, or meditation. But overall, yoga seems to be very relaxing, I'm going to try to talk my dad into taking that class because he's in his 60s and has lots of health problems, it would probably make him feel a lot better.

No, only to answer the questions. No nunchuk -- but you can do Gold's Gym Cardio for cardio boxing.
