I love this hairstyle, it's my favorite from lord of the rings, but I can't get it to stay up :( my hair is very long (down to the top of my thighs), and the bobby pins are pulled out by the weight of it. Do you have any advice? :)

I love this hairstyle! I'm a huge fan of Lord of the Rings too and Eowyn is one of my favourite characters!

If you do two very loose rope braids and twist them into large, loose buns, I think you'll get something closer to the hairstyle in the movie. They'll cover more of your head, than the tight, small rope braids, and if you do them in buns instead of crossing them over each other, the loose rope braids will form big loops. They wont look like buns so much as an intricate set of pinned curls. :)

Realistically this was done on a movie so they probably added hair pieces to get more hair. I love your intrepretation, I'm going to attempt something similar, great idea :)

yesterday i saw a girl wearing a hairstyle i can barely describe, but i'll try ;) she had this rope braid in a french-braid style down the back of her head.. you did something similar with two rope braids building something like a crown but i couldnt find the video :)

i think its a very pretty simple but uncommon look :) maybe you could try and see if you like it?
