That shit is marvelous. That native HID is the hotness. Everything is so easy guys I've updated in a club right before I played don't sweat it. It's easy. I can't believe it's that well integrated. Pioneer is making it a little over kill though. Rekordbox quantizes and analyzes it, saves it to USB drive, you can plug it in and bam. If there's cdj 2000s there's no reason for serato, it really is just another display of a wave form and the same library.
hey i have buy 2 cdjs 2000 en want to use them for serato in native mode....
i have follow the staps for connecting everything and ik works fine....
i have just one question i use in serato the hot keys.. and sometimes i have 4 or 5 hot keys in one song.... and i can only take 3 hot keys on the cdj pioneers... is that correct ? is there another features for take the other 2 hot keys from the cdj 2000 ?
Im only half way thru this video, but i have to ask...does the USB from the deck to the comp have to be the "big square one" or can i get ones that run from the top plug into the comp
OK MAN following your instructions but after putting the tables on advanced mode, when I press the link button all I see is Control Mode on the left and USB Midi on the right, with no option to make on deck 1 or deck 2. Any ideas?
the usb's from the player's to serato will send the by-directional signal. However, the RCA's are needed to connect from the 2000's to a rane ttm57sl or serato box in order for the audio to go through.
Awesome!! Hooked this up just now, I love serato and I've been using Tech12s from years now. When I got my CDJs I was trying to figure this out!! Thanks for the info Wiplash!!
ok, probably a stupid question, but if there is no rca's going to the mixer, where is the audio signal going, and how is it getting output to actual speakers!?
@DeeJayChrisRyan Wiplash is using the TT57 mixer (serato built in) so you dont need RCAs. On the other hand, I have the SL1 so you have to connect the RCA outputs from the SL1 to your Line IN on each channel. Make sure you click INTERNAL MODE in the serato software for each deck. SO: USBs from each CDJ go to your laptop, USB from your laptop to SL1, RCAs from SL1 to the mixer, output from mixer to speaker.
@bonesmegga THNX man didn't know about that INTERNAL MODE.. We were used to using in on ABS mode with the timecoded cd's. So that went wrong. It connected, and the track loaded as well, but no respons from the jogwheel or cue etc. Thnx a bunch!
Thanks for the vidoes wiplash! They helped out a lot for setting my gear up at home. I'm also rockin' the new DJM-2000, altogether this is one mean setup.
this may be a dumb question but I have everything working except I can't get sound to my monitors. Whats the best way to connect my mixer to my speakers? I was trying to look on the back.. are you using the xlr? I am so close this is driving me crazy
When you use the cdj2000 as a native controller for serato do all the features(hot cues, looping, reverse, and everything else it can do) on the cdj2000 still work the same as when you use a cd or USB stick or sd card.
Hi Wiplash i have set this up like you showed but my CDJ will not play everything else works like the control of my serato crates and the fast forward buttons its just that when i press the play button it does not start the CDJ.....
Man i got it all set up .. i couldn't get this done fast enough to start spinning and my computer tells me the USB has used all of its broadband lol.. not even sure how or if i can fix this, one cdj works great and the serato is fine but the other cdj2000 won't connect.
@galactic604 You can connect the CDJ's via ethernet and select the link function on deck 2 to connect to the software. You shouldn't need two USB cables / a hub for two decks.
@ideastoreality Serato still dose not offer suport for the Ethernet jack maybe in a few mor updates but for now its jus USB... but if u like u can put the Serato timecode on a SD card and hook up both CDJ's with the ethernet cable... BUT it will not be Native
djwiplash1, I've been reviewing your videos and I've got some questions to ask.
I'm thinking about purchasing the cdj 2000 however i also want serato. I have the ssl box and I may upgrade. I see you have the rane, your opinion between the pioneer 800 rane 57sl or the Allen heath. (I need to have serato) I don't scratch but learning how too. Please anyone help
@mygmoney i have both but if u dj Hip Hop get the ttm57 if u dj house get theDJM 800... iv used the Allen heath mixer and it feels cheap...i dont like it, but honestly there is no better convenience then the ttm57 if u use serato, i use it more then the 800 cuz u just plug up 1 USB and the connect the CDJ's straight into the mixer
well i have the TTM 57 witch has the Serato Box Built in but Yes you need a Box Or the 57 inorder to run Serato to hook up any other mixer you wil need a Serato Box.. this is how you would hook it up>>> CDJ straight into your laptop or USB Hub, the serato box Straight in to your laptop as well then hook up the RCA cables from your serato Box to the mixer (But Not the CDJ;s)
im not sure if u use cdj900. what i wanna know is does the "slip mode" work when u go native with serato on the CDJ900?..... please help, i can only afford 2 cdj900s
whats up what ihave 2 tech 1200s and ttm57 i still have the 1.9 serato i want to get the update but dont know what beniffet will i get out of using my ttm57 with 2.1?thanks
thx for your video.. i´ve got one question: u don´t link the cdj2000 to the mixer, but can you switch to normal cds with the djm2000 and you get a normal signal to the mixer?
@DjBrianProductions in order for the CDJ to control the serato software u need to put it on internal because you are using USB data not a time code cd and you are not using the RCA cables so the other 2 settings dont work
Thanks for checking it out for me. I'm trying to save up to buy these. I was hoping to get away with just buying one for now to hopefully control both decks, but it seems I have to have two connected at the same time.
nice whiplash i have no cdj 900 or 2000 but love learning about other gear incase i ever need to use it for any reason like at a club or i buy it later in the futue
