Mine only came with AA batteries and I got it in 2010 from Costco. Also it is basically unusable since mine always says low battery no matter what, and to top it off because of that it always shuts down.

You can take pictures sorta, you can press record and then stop for a really short vid then import that and get a snapshot with the standard software that comes with the camera.

the ultra HD has a compartment in the front where you can put n your own batteries, they take AA batteries. I've found the battery pack they include useless, but buying rechargeable batteries solves that problem- you can also buy normal AA batteries, john.. it's a great buy if you can get one

@ppparaone the software is on the video camera itself, so when you plug it in, view it in "my computer" and the open "Setup_Flipshare" and it will set it up for you, no disc required.
