  • Nice....the 1st Doobie song I ever heard 40 years ago ...growing up in San Jose California. Tom & Patrick still sound great. Proud of these South Bay Area Homeboys and grateful that they are still together sharing with us that "good time music" God Bless them!!

  • Nice! ..... Warms the soul to see Tom & Patrick play the 1st Doobies song I ever heard and still sound so crisp and soulful after 40 years. Growing up in San Jose California ... These homeboys have always made me proud the way they make the " feel good music" feel sooooo good! SF Bay Area Style

  • Sounds Fresh! :)

  • About 1971-72, I saw them on a little stage erected at California and Polk St, San F, I fell in love with them then, and have been following them ever since.

  • To get the panoramic Doobie Brothers membership and consistent excellence buy the three DVD's "Dboobie Brothers: Live at the Greek Theater 1982 Farewell Tour"; 2004's "Doobie Brothers Live at Wolf Trap"; and the new DVD/CD pack "World Gone Crazy". Tons of fun, awesome music and great interviews with band members. Love you Doobie Brothers!

  • love the dobro love the hair i miss men with long hair all cut as sampsons lost their power tho it seems to be returning lately

  • Nobody knows that first album.... the best Doobie Brothers album ever. BUY IT OFF EBAY!

  • im so glad i was in high school when this stuff was out.. god the 70's were great!

  • I just love the remaking of this awesome song ,I often wondered why they didn't play it more when they toured ..

  • Great sound from that Republic.

  • WOAH.

  • The Doobie Brothers are legends and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame does not deserve them!

  • Murderface!!!!!

  • 3 dislikes=3 assholes

  • Love them so amazing :D

  • Gosh! Only 235,894 views?! What is friggen wrong with the world? They can't appreciate true music! Glad to hear this song and I am proud to say that I'm only 15! What a classic!

  • This has been a favorite since before it was even released the first time.

I grew up in Northern Virginia and associated with musical types who had been in a band which included Little John(Hartman), DB's original drummer. Little John brought back a tape when he returned home before their first national tour with Tracy Nelson & Mother Earth, another WB/Reprise act..

This redo is pretty damned close to capturing the magic the original had.

    Nice stuff

  • I just found out Ed Toth went to my high school holy crap!

  • A true classic from the good old days. 17 years old when this tune first came out, it continues to speak to me. While "The Captain and Me" remains my favorite Doobie album overall, this song is like the Doors' "Light My Fire." both timeless entries in the history of music.

  • Does someone have the tabs of this briljant song?

  • Saw this in the early morning & felt better about my day.

  • Thanks Doobies! it sounds really good! look forward to hearing it Live at Red Rocks maybe?!

  • Not bad for a bunch of old guys. ;)

  • Fantastic tune! Watching the past flash with the present is a very cool effect! These guys ROCK!

  • Doobie Brothers come to Montreal Please !!!!!!!

  • Really fabulous live saw them in June

  • Saw them recently and they were excellant so see them go if you can

  • just awesome.

  • the singer almost looks like Burton Cummings!

  • I saw these guys yesterday with Lynyrd Skynyrd. They were sick!

  • I just saw them live earlier tonight with Lynyrd Skynyrd and they killed it on this song!

  • this band has with stood the test of great music! Frisbee59

  • Is that Loch Lomond in the first scenes?

  • In the fabled Land of Rock, there are three kings, their names; Metal, Classic, and Roots.

  • Oh yeah, that's the stuff :)

  • Brings it all back

  • Coolest mofo's in music

  • I've loved this song since the first time I heard it back in 71, but this recording is awesome. Doobies are my favorite group of all time!

  • I love how they mixed in the old footage with the new! I love it when the old masters come back and show us how it's done.

  • The Brothers Doobie have nailed it again! This version kicks it in son many ways! BRAVO

  • Terrific remake of a great Doobies song. The video is a perfect compliment. Great editing.

The "oooooooooo's" and the guitar riffs still give me chills.

These boys can flat sing and play.

    Thanks for this.

  • :D now this is real (rock) music, and they are still amazing after many many years of first appearing.

  • They are just such great musicians! I love everything they do!

  • Doobies are still great!

  • Nobody.......(nobody knows why they`re not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame)

  • saw them last night just as awesome as they were over 30 years ago. How many groups can that be said of?

  • to my knowledge, this is the first time i've heard this song.

  • Saw them at the Rainbow in Islington Londo in the 70's - fantastic then and still fantastic now - go Doobies

  • Like wine. The music and the listening experience gets richer with age. Unreal. What musicians!

  • In order for it to be called classic rock there has to be something to replace it, and I have not seen anything yet so its under the rock genre in my book.

  • There's a philosiphy I've always believed about musicians. You can tell why they got into the business by how long they stay in the buiness. If they got into it for the money, they disappear after a few years, if they got into to make music, they run full speed 'til the day they die. Light up the Doobies.

  • @camarorider67 thats not completely true, altho, i wish it was..

if you are in the scene of choice for the love of the scene, you could also be spit out for not changing what is perfect, you can get spit out by your managers if you denie to create refreshing, yet unnecessary sound.

i hope i said it well.

  • Holy shit...I love it. Although they play it on CMT. This is rock guys!

  • @bigbadputtytat its music. :)

  • EPIC

  • wow

  • Still rockin` with the Doob`s since the mid 70s. World Gone Crazy is up there with The Captain and What were once vices. I had one lifetimes ambition in January when I got to the MSG to see the New York Rangers. My only other one is to see The Doob`s live. Something I never managed. Then again, they never came to Scotland much. Maybe I`ll get back to the States again to see them. Who knows?

  • EPIC EPIC EPIC EPIC

  • TJ played the solo almost note for note to the original. They are still impressive!

  • The Uniqueness that the Doobie Brothers are lives on and on. Great new music carries on their legend!

  • This group id so underrated.

  • Amazin'

  • I am a happy happy southern girl today! Rockin to my Doobies just like yesteryear and yes like Fine Wine you guys have gotten better with age!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can't'wait for the CD!

  • This is the first band I have seen with continuity like this. They are exactly the same band musically. I have seen many " bands ", which are now 1 - 3 remaining members, the most important of whom either cannot sing or play anymore, and I wonder why they don't do something else.

The only problem with this video is that it is so darn exciting and intense. This is just about the happiest music of its kind, very relaxing and pleasing. They have something special in rock, which the video ignores.

  • every big hit band in the world , listen to this, this is the music that made your music great, these are the real HEROES, they know everything about vocal harmonys, and seperate guitar parts.

3 guitar players, but no one plays the same, thats a different story , then today powerchords

  • because doobies never boring!

  • Brand new Doobie Brothers' song!

  • They did a great job with the classic footage-- it looks incredible

  • Good song, but I sure wish they had made a video of "A Brighter Day." That is a great song.

  • why didnt this song get any airplay?

  • i keep seeing don felder on drums.

  • Wamma Jamma!!! Love it!!!

  • sounds great! Can,t wait to see them live!

  • Just saw them this past Spring 2010 in Springfield , Il. Absolutely fabulous. Great vocals.

  • I don't just think that they became better with age, they seem to become better with every single second that goes by.

Nonetheless, they played this song on their 2004 Wolf Trap concert (I've uploaded a few songs from that concert on my channel). So I always thought this was a rather old song??

  • Was the movie "Almost Famous" based upon the Doobies?

  • Hoy a mis 47's puedo disfrutar escuchar a esta superbanda, luego escuchar a ACCEPT luego a los alegres de Teran pasando por bullet for my valentine etc y gozar sin morir en el intento jaja!.

    DB increíble banda nice R&R!

  • The Doobie Brothers are what the seventies were all about!!

Great new album that will take you back to better days!

  • Whoa, topless chick at about 1:30

Damn, I love rock n roll!

  • With all the posers out there today, just gotta keep goin' back to the real deal ;)

  • Who is the bass player in this video?

  • where oh where can I find the TAB for this?

  • Thanks guys, Many of the 70's and 80's bands are throwing some nice jams out still. Glad I found this.

  • I'm only 13 years old... and I love it!

  • Nobody, but Nobody beats the Doobies!!

    xx Barb

  • For those who hope that the younger generations are listening...we are, more than you think. They sound great!

  • Thankfully no Michael McDonald here! Back to the classic guitar rock!

  • The Doobie Brothers are like the cool uncles you looked up to as a kid that everyone liked. They are older and wiser but still cool.

  • everything I always liked in a rock and roll way of life is right here with these guys

  • How many rock singers can get to their '60s and still sing with the same voice, hitting all the higher notes? Rock on, Johnston!!!

  • great song

  • Thank God, there's STILL a group like the Doobies out there that can still play REAL music.

  • Been a lifelong fan! An absolute travesty that they aren't in the Rock and Roll HOF! Don't know of any groups except for maybe the Eagles and Pink Floyd with the musical and singing talents the Doobies have always had.

  • I have always liked Tom as the front man for this band, Michael is good, but tom brings back that classic dobbie sound that can't be mistaken.

    love you guys

  • My God...are these guys good!!!! I saw them 'in concert', three times in the 1970s, (pre-macdonald ...love him, tho)...

dual drums, unmatched harmonies, and the "smell" that began with the first note....

3 of the best nights of my life...

I was barely old enough to drive....

    I'm 53 now...

the poor children of today...ROCK ON!

  • Sweet!

  • Do they pass out pretzels on the Doobieliner?

    Still Going Strong!

  • I heard the doobie brothers few days ago in a game with "long train runnin' " and I was pretty amazed and searched for some other titles from this band. I just wanted to say that it's realy cool rock. And I'm starting to realy liking it. nice. Now my day is saved. ^^ btw I'm 24, so ScooterKesler you can see even young people (starting to) like this band :D

  • 1:41 is my favorite part, that kind of skill is something that rockers dont show anymore

  • I remember this one from their first album (CD)......just GRRRRRRRRREAT!!!

  • That classic Doobies sound. Brings back memories.

  • @dotd53 - I remember when they were on the Dinah Shore show and Skunk Baxter was with them then. They made her an Honorary Doobie. I have no idea why I still remember that... but I can see that in my mind like I watched it 5 minutes ago....

  • Awesome!!!

  • This is a re-recording of their first single off their very first album from 1971. This new version is really good.

  • Nobody gonna take awesome classic music from me rock on.

Sounds just as good when they first started rockin.

Wish we still had normal music like this playing the air waves.

  • @special3405 Music is never normal. Don't you evah forget.

  • Awesome song!! Is it just me, or does Tom look very like Bobby Kimball here?

  • @Totofan99 Ha! I agree.

  • Nobody is actually a remake from their debute album. I had it when I was younger. Because it wasn't as popular as albums Captain and Me and Toulouse Street, most people don't remember. I've been hooked on the Doobies ever since my brother had me come out of the house, sit in his 1970 Pontiac Trans Am,and listen to Long Train Running for the first time.

  • Great song and video, nice to see good music can still be made.

  • I discovered this band while watching VH1, where they played "Long Train Runnin`", needless to say i was hooked from the first tone! (Im 16)

  • FOREVER BROTHERS

    FOREVER YOUNG

    BYE FROM ITALY

  • INCREDIBLE song - love it!

  • Tone and harmony...NOBODY does it it like this

  • An album from The Doobies is like a rare visit from the crazy yet still cool uncles at Xmas dinner. They may have aged but they're still the life of the party and everyone is glad to see them.

  • Remake of a song off of"Toulouse Street". Well done.

Not in the RRHOF is a sin. Add Chicago (Kath era anyway),Grand Funk Railroad, Marshall Tucker and Charlie Daniels to that list while your at it.

  • just the best band live on the planet now... thank you for visiting the uk..

  • Fuckin Awesome!!

  • This is off there very first record in the 70;s.different version but still is tremendous

  • Love it!!! Still just as great as they use to be!! That's for sure!!!

  • Tom just sounds great, this track sounds like it could have come off of "The Captain and Me".

    Efffing spectacular.

  • Love this video and their harmonies are still the greatest!

  • I saw them this summer with my 20 year old son, Pat Simmons just blew him away. Awesome musicians.Old rockers that got better with time. Hall of Fame has to call.

  • These guys are the best, all time greats. REAL MUSIC!

  • Just went to a live concert with them..... it was amazing :o)

  • Wow!...These guys haven't lost a note! Their sound, beat, and harmony are as crisp and clean as ever. The Doobie Bros. have never sounded better. Thanks for giving us more!

  • Impressive as always. Same quality, same feel to it, it's like being 17 again to hear this new music from you!

  • Tell me you can't close your eyes and see yourself back in the 70's while listenin' to this music!!!!!

  • The Doobies were ahead of my time but I have to thank my parents for keeping those old records in the basement. One of the first albums I ever purchased was The Doobie Brothers album, so to hear "Nobody" re-recorded like this is something special. I must give credit to this band for being so influential not only in my guitar playing but for being the soundtrack of many amazing memories of my life.

    Thank you Doobie Brothers.

  • ...exhales deeply...ahhh.Holy shit,real music by actual musicans.How refreshing.

  • Great video...I love the past ...present...video work and is that John Cowen on bass?

  • These guys have always been a favorite of mine. They sound like 'studio' when you see 'em live too. Lots of SF Bay Area bands over the years but I think the Doobie Brothers are the best of the best! Great song......

  • Excellent return album. Glad to see they limited Michael McDonald to one track though... :)

  • That was a good DB song to begin with, but this version is at least as good as the original some 40 years ago!!

  • Saw the Doobie's at the Hammersmith Apollo last night (29th October 2010), what a blast. It ranks as one of the best gigs I've seen in my 40 years of gigging. They played all the classics plus 3 from 'World Gone Crazy' (which is classic Dobbie's). Their musicianship and vocals are still outstanding. Not sure who was on piano and sax but those guys can really play too. If you get the chance to see them you'd be mad to miss them. Big thanks to the Doobie's for an unforgetable night in rainy London

  • Badass.

  • Hey...freu :-) The Doobies are back...einfach nur geil !!! Danke Doobies!!! Great job.

    Grüsse aus dem Schwarzwald (Germany)

  • better than ever ,get older you get the experience ,thats not what the world lie

  • Good to see the Doobies go back to their roots by revamping one of their very early songs. I heard this song for the first time at a Doobies concert in 1975 and it was not new then having been released in 1971.

No Michael McDonald or Skunk Baxter in the video as neither were part of the line-up when this song was released. They were both busy with Steely Dan or some other band at the time.

I always thought they should re-do this song since it came out in obscurity before anyone knew them.

  • Disgusting this song didn't chart when it was first released...

  • Who is that playing guitar/singing at the 2:34 mark in the vid?

  • At 2:34 is the amazing John Cowan. If yall haven't checked him or the New Grass Revival out, do so! John is an amazing vocalist with a range every bit as big as Robert Plant. Check him out!

  • hey 61lrac, you mean 40 years! direct from Brazil where they made it too: listen to the music, long train running, ...

  • tom johnston and pat simmons are the two of the best! God bless em!

  • tom johnston and pat simmons have never sounded better...

  • OH MY GOD!!!!! I feel 16 again.......seriously this is straight up amazing!!! going out right NOW to buy this album. I loved the Doobies then.....I love them NOW!

  • Outstanding....... how bout that doobieliner?

  • 2012 (The END of the Planet Right? )is coming and the Doobie Brother's are NOT in the Hall of Fame...

    Neil Diamond...Donna Summer...LL Cool J...Beastie Boys.....WTF?

  • This is an old song.It is the first song on The Doobie Brothers first album from 1971 called The Doobie Brothers.I like the new version better.

  • This is music! They sound great! Classic Doobie Sound, especially when they harmonize together. Nice! Thanks, Doobs!

  • awesome

  • The new CD is great! Even better is the CD/DVD set. The DBs just keep getting better and better!

  • Wow great song and you guys sound better than ever.... looking forward to see you live in Milan next thursday

  • Man, that doughboy sounds sweet in that song. I will buy this tomorrow!

  • sweet music video, but effin' amazing tune! can't wait to hear the rest of the album.

  • Great song, fantastic video, nice mix in of old performances. The new CD rocks. Love these guys.

  • What a great song. First time hearing it! I hope this becomes a big hit. This is just as good if not better than anything you can hear today on rock or country radio. Great great stuff.

  • They have they sound of the Capt.nMe /Toulousa Street days. I like that. Still keepin' on 4 decades later. Old guns n looks like some hired young guns - the spirit is still there. More decades please.

  • Man... what an AWESOME song, love that southern kick to it.

  • The Doobies are just a great band. They have really stood the test of time..and are still standing.

  • WHOOP!!! LOVE MY DOOBIES!!

  • PURE DOOBIE BROTHERS! GOD LOVE THEM! Awesome. That sound and voices took me back many a year! At age 49 now, I appreciate the Doobie Brothers more than ever! I will be buying this! Fine wine does get better with age! GREAT JOB GUYS! LOVE IT!

  • sensational

  • I'm only 16 and my Uncle told me about this song... Let it be known that EVERYONE at my school will now know of The Doobie Brothers.

  • Just turned 50 myself BUT, feel like its 73 while watchin this! Burton Cummings...YEAH, your right!..LOL

  • pretty momma come and take me by the hand! love the doobs. This song rocks! Heard a little Robert Cray sound in the beginning. Love it.

  • WOW! Is it possible that the Doobie Brothers got better with age! I just love the musical arrangement and those vocals.. those unmistakable Doobie tones and blending! I am a fan all over again! I hope the newer generations will listen and learn from a group of amazing musicians and vocalists!

  • @ScooterKesler I could have not said it better,ROCK ON MY FRIEND!!!

  • @ScooterKesler I agree 100%. I saw them on CNN this week - Parker/Spitzer show and they were just wonderful!! Don't want to over do the awesome word ;-)

  • Loved the Doobies in High School!!! What a return! F'in Epic!

  • @broncobob59

Hell yeah! I was actual looking for "Natural Thing" and stumbled upon this. Great to see they've still got it! And great name for an album...

  • world gone crazy the brand new album ,awesome, check it out,..........

  • Great song. Has that signature Doobie's vocal styling. Very strong!!

  • Great to see the boys back - lead singer actually looks like Burton Cummings...lol

  • I love this video. Plenty of shots of Tiran, Keith and Little John. It's funny how McD and Skunk were left out, though.

  • @Larrymh07

Skunk can be briefly seen @ 3:36 . MMcD was of course not yet with the Doobies during the early 70s.

  • I've been a Doobie fan ever since I can remember (I'm 58 years young.) I'm speechless after watching this new video. Thank you so much for including an old classic *Nobody* on your video and thank you for all the years of your music. Long live The Doobie Brothers. Long live Rock and Roll. It doesn't get any better than this folks. I can't wait for the new studio album.

  • Awesome tune awesome video, my wife and I have tickets to see the Doobies in Tulsa 9/30/10 they're playing at the Joint, looking forward to it. Not many bands this good still out on the road, see them while you can.

    Thanks Doobie Brothers

  • Absolutely Brilliant! Can't stop listening to it.

  • WOW!

  • Great de Doobies are back!!!!!! Greet from Holland
