Sightless Pit was the reason I almost gave up Skyrim. 3 groups of Falmers at the same time and no way to turn back (after the fall). I spent almost 3 hours trying to reach surface again...

About the damage

You're leveling up, which means that you'll be facing guys at your level more. They feed you easy guys to start with

You're fighting Falmer. They're always going to be the toughest things around.

Each creature has a soul of a certain size. You capture the soul by having an active soul trap on it when it dies. Soul trap can be placed by spell or weapon.

Sentient creatures (playable races) like bandits, soldiers or civilians have Black souls. Black souls are Grand sized, but they need a Black Soul Gem to hold them.

Black Soul gems cannot hold White souls of creatures.

Grand souls make the best enchantments/rechargers

Soul trap is actually really good. It levels up your conjuration fast and it fills an empty soul gem which are always useful!

@matrixcheddar when an enemy's life is low, cast the soul trap spell on them. If you kill them within 60 seconds, you will trap the soul in the correct size soul gem. Or enchant a weapon to do it like you said :)

How Soul Gems Work by: Etchgow First aquire soul gem. -there are different levels of soul gems --From lowest to highest we have --(Petty, Lesser, Common, Greater, Grand, and Black.) - Black soul gems can trap "People" souls Next you need to acquire the spell "Soul Trap" or find a weapon with that enchantment. Enchanting weaponry is a great way of earning gold. Enchanting a dagger with "Turn Undead" will net you a large profit considering they are found practically everywhere, are lightweight, and have a decent weight/value ratio in contrast to other weapons. Even using petty souls dramatically increase their value. Learn to enchant if you want a lot of gold quickly.

Work on pickpocketing it's easy levels I'm a 28 and my Pickpocketing is at 100, Sneak at 47, Archery at 41, Lockpicking at 29, and Alchemy at 33 and I have about 12k gold from stealing Jewelry and being in the Thieves Guild it's very fun and challenging

The staffs are very useful and they are one handed. And if you use ypur bound sword in one hand and your fireball spell in the other you are technichally stil a spellsword. Except now you have a spellsword:) and once again, TRAIN YOUR SMITHING!! You should wear daedric armor and use your magic. Then you will be unbeatable.

There is a perk in conjurgation if u kill an enemy with bound sword it fills an empty soul gem with soul, so u skill one hand weapons, conjurgation and u have a lot of souls for enchanting as well. It also does a lot of damage even without upgrade so u should use bound sword in your right hand.

Darnoc go to either riverwood or whiterun inn I cant remember have a drinking contest with sam sanguine. It will start a long (and funny) quest which will end in receiving the sanguine rose. This staff will let you summon a dremora with a daedric greatsword for 60 seconds. its epic.

Use your breeze home in Whiterun more often(the one you payed 5000 coin to get). Store all your valuables in chests, drawers etc. potions are weighing you down big time. Candlelight does sound silly to have but it is really useful in dark areas in dungeons or caves. I found chests, Armors,powerful weapons you wouldn't normally find otherwise.

Use bound sword in your right hand, as it has greater attack speed, while still using fire in the offhand. Bound sword levels up both one handed and conjuration, while benefiting from the perks of both. With 20 conjuration you can get a perk to make bound weapons more powerful e.g bound sword will be the equivalent of Daedric (!) sword.

tip....from playing skyrim: when you get the chance to read the Fireball spell book, do it. its especially good for areas where a lot of enemies charge at you or attack at once as it does i believe 50 points of damage plus extra fire damage and then an additional explosion of fire dealing damage to targets in a 15 ft radius, not good when Lydia or other fellow folks are meleeing the target at the same time. it is an adept level spell so it takes quite a bit of magicka ESPECIALLY whendualcasting

@KSRKiller in addition to what KSR said, soul gems hold souls of the creatures/ppl you kill. however you either have to have a weapon w/ soul trap enchanted on to like KSR mentioned...or before the target dies, you have to cast the soul trap spell..from oblivion its a touch spell so you have to be at a pretty close range and it cant be fired to a target. some ppl/creatures have bigger souls than others and thus you will need bigger soul gems to carry bigger souls. also grand and greater.......

@CauldronicKeep....soul gems, while enchanting will make the enchantment more powerful, keeping in mind that your enchantment level is at a decent level. 1)for instance, a grand soul gem will put more charges into an item compared to a petty soul gem. 2)lets say ure at level 10 enchanting, magicka regen may only be 10% faster when u enchant items where as a higher level of enchanting may cause the item to regen magicka 20, 30, 40, 50...100% faster. just an example

If you get soul trap you can trap souls of dead animals or people but you have to do it within 60 seconds of there death. You cast the spell on the corpse and it fills an empty soul gem. If you take a soul from a bunny it will fill an empty common soul gem. If you take the soul from a bandit it might fill a Greater or Grand soul gem. The more powerful the souls the more powerful the gems.

soul trap will capture a soul into a vessel, typically a gem, if it dies within 60 seconds. Petty souls will fill grand gems if there is nothing smaller to hold it. There is a quest to get a reusable gen Azuras star.

You can enchant a weapon to trap souls, I think it is better to put on 1 wep if dual weiding, or if you are max enchanting you can put 2 enchants on single items, this has to be done at the same time, you can not add a 2nd chant at a later time.

Set trap enchant to max charges.

The vendors usually regen their money in 48 hours. If you get high enough speech, and it might take a perk, you can invest in a store, and they will have more gold in the future to buy your stuff with.

The riverwood trader seems the best one for this and after investing will have 11,000+ gold every 48 hours.

If you do the thieves guild, DO NOT sell the armor they give you, you will need it to trade in later.
