Did you downlaod firmware then (windows) Shift-click restore then choose your firmware and when it's done use Limera1n? Thought so.

Ok after like an hour-1 1/2 later i got mine jailbroken. What i did was downgraded my ipod touch 2nd gen to a 4.1 then used greenpoi0n instead of the rain thing. make sure your itunes is up to itunes 10.1 and when u open greenpois0n do the first two and make sure you hold them to the exact time then for the very last one where it tells you to to hold the home button. Hold it a little extra and then see what happens. If it doesnt work try a few more times, i had to try 6 times b4 it worked.

You have the exact and i mean EXACT same problem as i do, i was a 3. something and used greenp0ison and jailbroke my ipod touch gen 2 and then updated to 4.2. Im shitty cause i still cant figure out how to jailbreak it but ive been looking at other vids and it said that maybe to run as administrator or u have to have your itunes up, that didnt work 4 me but maybe try those. I also downgraded mine back to 4.0 and though maybe that has something to do with it. but im not sure.

Try using a different USB Cable. And try to redownload Limera1n. And make sure you follow all of the steps correctly. Tell me if this helped

Mine had the exact problem. Reset the data and phone got 'de-activated' .. that was even worse..

So whats the solution:

Update Itunes to the latest software.. An my phone was activated. Also I saw the limerain logo on jailbreaking.. and am currently downloading Cydia..

I can get limera1n installed alright but the icon is just a white box and when I go to open it, it opens but nothing populates. It's just a black screen with a red circle at the top with a tear drop in the center of the circle. Nothing else. Anyone know? I have a Mac and installed the limera1n for mac (4 times now) with the same results.
