Vista sucks. I used it. Now I have a windows 7 custom PC, and windows 7 has NO problems at all. Incredibly user friendly, not loaded with cr@p which you don't use anyway, very fast, directX 11... it's almost perfect.

I hated Vista - BUT i installed it on a pentium 4 eMachines pc and it installed fine in no time. I also installed it on say around 3000 pc's it installed fine as i was a tecky employee back then so it must have been bad hardware on your side. Mac does not have this problem becuase less hardware is developed for it becuase apple are to greedy to share the market - but when they do get more populer than microsoft you will see the same problem. Vista did suck big time though.

I have a T3400 running at 2GHz with 4GBs of RAM and Vista my computer runs perfectly fine I have 0 problems, and i dont ahve to pay an arm and a leg for for something I don't really need. You can't really compare OS X with Windows like that; Windows is designed to run on millions of different hardware combinations, whereas OS X is designed to run on very specific hardware setups. A lot of effort goes in to making sure Windows works on as many systems as possible.

That said, I definitely prefer Snow Leopard to Vista :P

Snow Leopard wasn't a waste of time. It is just Leopard with a few changes, it's little more than a software update. That's why the cost is ridiculously low. It's hardly a new OS, because Apple doesn't have any need to make one yet.

Once I switched from 32 bit to Vista 64 bit version and found all the correct drivers I have absolutely no problems. It loads in 17 seconds and Im' Glad I stayed with it. My wife has a MAC but feel like Windows Is still better for what I use it for. GAMING. I dont get the Blue screen and everything is so much smother. As far as security. There are far fewer 64 bit viruses. Ill Stay windows because I cant Build my own Super Mac like I can a Windows Rig

i tested the beta version of vista from way back then when it used to be longhorn and yes it totally sucked! I have mac and pc so i know the difference. For me, mac has that cool UI but in terms of usability and features, it sucked. Vista on the other hand has gone sucky to awesome. Lots of features, easy to use, good UI, lots of available applications. Productivity: Mac 6/10 - Vista 8/10. Mac is if you wanna be one of the cool ones. Vista is if when you want things done. Try using them both.

Windows has been dying since Vista, I had it from beta 1, right through to the release date. I installed on my PC that I had it time and you would install one driver then it would knock out another thing. I now use a macintosh for simple clarity because everything just works!

I think it shows the main problem is people aren't 100% happy with vista, but are to scared of the the unknown to make the jump to Mac OSX. Sorry but not many will go into Mac. Soon as Adobe starts to publish in the linux platform and OGL 3.0 becomes mainstream many companies will go to with Ubuntu instead of windows.

I think Microsoft had a slump with Vista, whether this is matched by sales is a different matter, but I get a feel that many are disappointed with it compared to XP. I think that Apple will soon have a big increase in the market share. I don't think that Microsoft will go, but I do think that the two OSs will have to work together better. The only thing is that Apple need to make sure that build quality of Macs is kept at a high standard. I think Mac should aim at the gaming market as well.

The thing with the Mojave Experiment is that the people in the video said that Vista slows your computer down. Well, Microsoft would have put 'Mojave' (aka Vista) on a high spec machine to make it run as fast as possible. Also, they would have made the Mojave drivers work before being released to them. That means that the problems that the people had heard may still be problems for their machines, coz the Mojave machine would be checked!

I totally agree with you, I have vista on my laptop that I bought in march, at first it was great, but now I can admit it does suck. Any OS that takes 10 minutes to shut down has some serious issues!

I never said Vista is currently a bad OS. I think it's stable but it's not what it should or could have been. Just like the launch of MobileMe, it had problems at the start that could have been prevented but caused a lot of people problems. Vista has been out for 2 years and they are just getting people interested with the Mojave experiment. A little too late. Windows 7 has a very long way to go to get close to Mac OS X.

You are So right about Apple becoming popular and People are switching. Today, I saw the first street ads for Apples MacBook's here in Latvia. I was kinda shocked and I also saw 2 new Apple official retailer stores (Look the same as Apples original stores) and I was pretty shocked about that too. I have never seen Apples Products suddenly appear everywhere (Every electronics store) here in Latvia, but suddenly today. Boom! And a LOT of them.

i think windows is dying but very slowly a lot of people are disappointed with vista and how bad it runs on their "windows vista capable" computers. But we are stuck with windows until more games and applications are supported on Mac's.
