Why are people so butt-hurt that Galaxy won? It's a good game in its own right. Just because you think a game that doesn't have guns or violence or even a fleshed-out story shouldn't win the GOTY award doesn't mean that you can question their choices. It's THEIR choice. Out of those Call of Duty 4 because of how big that franchise is today and how many people still play it. But I think Warhawk on the PS3 deserves this because its 2011 now hordes of people still play it was the most fair balanced game ever to be made and it was very fun and it scored on gameplay count you know you could jump right in and love it check it out
Super Mario Galaxy deserves this titles. Unlike other games out there it might have the same plot but it plays differently and has great level design through out. Shooters are just mindless games, with the exception of Portal, but Mario causes you to use your brain to figure out how to advance to the next stage. I had tons of fun playing this game and if you own a Wii this is a must buy. To all the 360 and PS3 fanboys saying this game doesn't deserve it, if you don't like it get off.

For me, 2007 was the best year ever for gaming- Mass Effect was the single best game I've ever played, but Bioshock came really close. Cod 4, unlike most CoDs... was... FUN. Halo 3 was... well... totally freaking revolutionary. That's what, in my mind, spurred off the hd halo. The fact that Mass Effect AND Bioshock came out in the same year alone makes 2007 the best, Everything else is extra.

Bioshock is the coolest video game world I've ever played. I played cod4 for hours just like everyone else. But smg is just fantastic and super fun. It deserved goty

Mario is the most overrated piece of garbage ever. Back in the 90s when it was actually fun, now it's just watered down bullshit.
BioShock was easily the best game of 2007. Hell, it even has my vote for greatest game ever made.

Personally, I thought that Bioshock, Mass Effect, and Orange Box were all equal and all better than Super Mario Galaxy. Still a great game though.

The Orange Box should have won. Portal alone kills Mario Galaxy.

@ThatGamerboi I don't know about the ps3, but in 2010 the wii had some decent games released. Kirby's Epic Yarn, DK Country Returns, Metroid: Other M, Goldeneye, etc.
