  • What you call a candlewicking stitch is known as a French knot. :)

  • hi Teresa i am having a hard time putting the ends together

  • Yes, I have the same problem.

  • Hi Teresa, I lose sound at 0.52 seconds, and it never comes back. I have tried several times, anyone else having this issue?

  • @iluvprawns I think I may have put in some slow motion at that point. I am sorry it is not better. Fortunately my video editing has improved a little since then. Sound is back at around 2:00. The candy cane video I posted recently is showing the same steps with a new better quality video. The curly cue is the same, then you can come back to this to view how the wreath is put together.

  • @tjw1963 Thanks Teresa :)

I will try that. You do such a great job, and they all turn out so well!

  • i crocheted my wreath together and realized i might of used the wrong size needle for this project i used a size k ?

  • so nice!! now I know my friends Christmas gifts, I'll make pins with it!

    Thanku!

  • This is sooo cute! I'm going to try it :D thanks for the video!

  • This is so lovely.

My desk is a mess and i tried some .

    My 4th one almost succeded.

I have to take care of my cats now, tonight i will try to go on and i also will make some bigger wreaths.

The little ones i will put on a X-mas cards.

Thanks a lot for your clear lessons (i hope you'll understand my English).

  • @polderwijffie Maybe your cats would like one for a toy! :)

  • @tjw1963

I really have to hide my wreaths for our 5 cats because of the pipe cleaner in it.

They have enough to play with, spoiled cats as the are.

I have made 6 wreaths now, all different, but so beautiful, i am really proud that i did it.

It was such a long time ago i did this.

I also made some other things like some snowflakes and hearts.

Just for fun and with your help.

I will make a small movie when i am readdy and i will send you a link of it of my channel of You Tube.

  • Oh this is so lovely, will make a few of these for my tree, and I suppose you could put them on presents, so the person receiving the gift could use them etc..

Lovely idea, thanks for sharing this great video..

  • @shezie16 You are welcome.

  • Very good.

  • i would make the wreath bigger to hang up and i would have used pom poms

  • These are cute ideas, you make it look so easy. How long have you been doing this?

  • About 27 years.

  • Thanks so much Jenny1954!! Finally I got the thicker pipe cleaner from Ace Hardware store - it has vary size in good price:)

  • Thanks for posting this very useful tutorial!! It really gives me the idea of making a Christmas gift:) However, where can I buy a cheap but good pipe cleaner like yours? I had searched it from Hobby Lobby, Lowe's, Micheals and Walmart but I couldn't find it:( Thank you for you helping!!

  • Teresa used some jewelry wire in the video cause she didn't have the pipe cleaner. I made my first wreath with the wire, then bought a bag of 25 pipe cleaners at Michael's for .99 wihich work perfectly. The yarn sticks better to the pipe cleaner.

  • cute

  • Can you make a snowman and a gingerbreadman?

  • Those are some good suggestions.

  • I would want to learn how to crochet of womans booties or sock's or slipers. any ideas?

  • I do have a pair of slippers. I will send you the link.

  • Hello, how can I make a bigger wreath? Thank you...

  • I made a bigger wreath by using a larger crochet hook, chained 45 instead of 35, and used thicker yarn like Lion's Brand Homespun in the special "Holiday" colors. I'm making them as lapel pins/corsages, like the ladies used to wear when I was a kid in the 60's and 70's. They also make great Christamas bazaar gifts.

  • I just have a quick question. when doing the SC do you go through both loops or just one? Does it matter?

    Thanks

  • I like to go through both, but it really does not matter. You can pick what you think looks the best.

  • christmas coasters will be nice

  • very pretty

  • what size hook are u using?

  • It looks like a size I/5.5mm but you can use a variety of sizes with this project and it will work the same.

  • Thank you. :)

  • I have a cool pattern for the Christmas reith besides this one.

  • This pattern is darling! I am going to make up a bunch of these wreaths (and the candy canes) to give to family this weekend, after Thanksgiving! THANK YOU!

  • Teresa, I made a huge wreath. With 70 chain stitches. It looks excellent! Thanks so much for all your original ideas!!!

I doubled mine, just like you showed us for the candy canes. Love you

  • Thank you for commenting. You have got the right idea when it comes to increasing and making the projects larger.

  • OMG!! I love this so much! It's so cute and adorable! I'm doing it right now. What a lovely gift. My aunt loves to crochet and I will definately make one for her. I'll even show it to the crochet club I started at my school! That will inspire them so much! Thanks ♥

  • You are welcome. :)

  • Hi Teresa!!! I just tried this tonight and was following along, after I read the written instructions, and noticed that in the video you say a chain of 35 and on the written instructions it says 25. I did the 25 and thought it was to short until I watched the video. Not picking or anything just noticed the difference. ;-)

  • Thank you, it might be a typo.

  • Just an observation...in the video you say to do 3 single crochets in each, but on the typed instructions you have 3 DC in each.

  • I have corrected the error, thank you.

  • that's cute ....made the baby dress uploaded pic in my blog pls chk and comment....Regds Seema

  • Thanks for sharing. What a neat holiday idea!
