  • This song charted in Dec 1973 thru Jan. 1974. Good swayer to the music.

  • Excellent song for motivation and dancing! I simply love this, "If You Are Ready, Come Go With Me."

  • top memories, luv it:))

  • Whoever the drummer on this track is definitely kicked it. Dayum!

  • @mtedeschi you're right, and that whom would be kicking is most likely either Roger Hawkins or Al Jackson, Jr. according to available information after 30 minute search web search. It's a shame that search engines are so tilted toward rip-off 10% music recyclers rather than providing relevant information when queried as precisely as possible. 18 years of researching on the internet (starting with ftp before the web) and it's gotten much worse over time.

  • 3 dislikes. Really? SMH. This song is powerful and fun and just plain f*cking great! :-)

  • This great song reminds me of my college days when I was a waiter and bartender. At times, for extra cash and to pay tuition fees, I would dance on tables for rich, classy, and so generous ladies.

  • OMG!! such a powerful song. Always makes me cry

  • I was way too young to grasp the power of this statement: If You're Ready, Come Go With Me back when it was a hit in 1973-74.

The "IF your ready" is so deep.

Looking at Egypt, Libya, and related Uprisings, and the spin-offs from the Occupy Movements happening everywhere, I think this tune captures the human dilemma of wanting change but maybe being afraid and not ready to take the plunge to make change happen or hold on to its gains.

  • this song makes u wanna smile....nothing else. :p

  • Excellent classic, one of my first ever ep purchase. Popular hit at teen parties in Lagos, Nigeria in the 70's.

  • Mavis would never ever be fat, old, or ugly (re:garrotte123's remark.)! Such a lady! Beautiful with a beautiful voice. She's a doll--always!

  • This song kicks butt! Love it + Love the Staple Singers!!

  • dislike??? Seriously. People I dont want to know!

  • Mavis has a wonderful voice. Love this!

  • 3 CATS DID NOT WANT TO GO WITH THE STAPLE'S. SEPTEMBER 1973 STAX STA -0179. CLASSIC STAX GROOVE.

  • mavis staples on magnificent form , right up there as one the best female vocalists ever.

  • @MrLawman10 I second that!

  • @MrLawman10: Mavis's voice is one the greatest voices I've ever heard. Her voice, no matter what song she's singing, captures my very soul. (I'm serious.) Very few singers are able to do that. There's just something spiritually uplifting about her voice. Amazing.

  • Love this song! If you're ready come on go with me!

  • @ztruth4u SUCH A NICE LINE,if your ready come go with me

  • Great music but II wold change your description because the one thing songs like this taught us was intelligence. When you spesk the ay you do when referring to great songs like this you are placing the negativity on it.
