everyone always saying how much they miss okinawa but i live here and its not all that great i mean i love how its ropical and everything but then again ive only been here a few months maybe ill feel different when i leave
In Okinawa, I stayed in the residential part of the Tomigusuku Part of Naha. Whatever you do, DO NOT GO RUNNING IN THE PARK BY THE RIVER!!! SMELLS LIKE SHIT!!! But other than that, WONDERFUL PLACE
I went to that light house down there once at 2am and my wife nearly jumped off the cliff. She hates that place at night. Just down the road there is an old castle called Gushikawa castle, you can surf there too. I saw 2 waterspouts at the same time while surfing there in 1995.
Living in Okinawa (Kadena AB) was and always will be THE BEST TOUR I'VE EVER EXPERIENCED EVER. GOOD TIMES! GOOD FOOD! GOOD FRIENDS! NOTHING BUT GOOD TIMES! Miss that side of the world!!
Nice video!! Love the Japanese announcements after landing. So awesome to hear it! I'll be going there in 2.5 months, cant wait to experience all that!! Hope i get a window too!!
Man, I haven't been back there in years...I can't wait to go back. I was in Futenma MCAS for a year serving with the US Navy. No, I wasn't a corpman...I was a supply type. Used to go to Naha quite often...made some friends...I hope they still remember me.
true, but you could apply that argument to anything where people do stuff which they shouldn't be doing. Personally, I don't tend to question the pilot's instructions when on an aircraft. No harm done...but that doesn't mean that it isn't potentially dangerous. Anyway, yeah, I do get your point.
That was simply beautiful! I landed in Okinawa in April 2006 and Iam still here. These scenes that I saw myself still keeps me spellbound. Watching this video was like reliving the memory. Beautiful island, beautiful people.
Boy, did that landing bring back memories! They must have been sitting in the same seat I was. I seriously thought I would have to swim the last 100 meters. LOL. Yes, it was beautiful flying over the coral reefs like that. BTW, I lived in Ginowan city, across Hwy 58 from Futenma. My first husband was stationed at Makiminato, near Naha.
cool video man. I remember landing at Naha airport, although it was overcast that day. I visited Okinawa many times when I was in the Navy and on a study abroad program. It really is much different than Japan.
By the way, for those who don't know, Okinawa is a small island far south from mainland Japan. The climate there is subtropical and not particularly representative of Japan as a whole!
Nice video Pchan! I've been to Japan three times, but still haven't made it to Okinawa... :( I'm heading back to nihon to teach English after I graduate though; I'll definitely make it to the Ryukyu's then!
I really enjoyed watching all your videos, you must be a frequent traveller. I was when I used to travelled to Cyprus 6 times a year during my boarding school days. My favourite TV program on flights is MAP channel.
Just a favor, can you make a video of JAL flight, like while stewardess is speaking, when meals are serving, showing what meal is, random things, monitor playing movies, the pleasant atmosphere. My favorite airline.
I have flown with Jal airlines too on many occasions, Okinawa, Tokyo, Hong Kong and China is my favourite airline too. Great service from the staff. Jal is certainly up with Emmirates airlines range. Thanks for sharing Pchan2005.

Nice video. Doesn't Japan have rules about using electronic equipment on planes during takeoff and landing live everywhere else?
SwitchRich 4 years ago

Yeah, but hell. No harm done, right? anyway, there are dozens of videos of airplanes taking off/landing.(:
