  • There's not enough bandwidth to transmit HD. Bear in mind this is only just happening with home TV. Perhaps someone will invent a mini sat dish FPV system!!

  • Hi - very nice video! Have you considered 1280X720p realtime FPV for this? Can it be done?

  • @MrSpaui lol if u want full HD fpv u have to be chuck norris.

  • Is the on screen display stock?

  • Have this TX and RX with the standard 2dbi aerials. getting about 10 to 20ft range. Is this normal? which is the best channel to go with or will get better range. please let me know.

  • @vickishortland

I GOT IT !! check out the pictures of the channels on hobbywireless product site !!!

The channel switches on receiver and transmitter must not be placed in the same order to be working on the same channel !!! my set works perfectly now !!

  • @KingHaggis what does bank the plane mean?

  • @muffdriver69 well, in simple terms I think I can't explain it any better than "steering left or right" by using the roll axis of the airplane but you can use google or a good PPL theory book for a more accurate description of the aviation version of the word "banking". I.E.: if you're flying and you want to make a right turn, you bank right, if you want to make a left turn, you bank left. In my comment I could have said: when I steer left or when I steer right but it's not a car.

  • @KingHaggis oh ok. thanks! btw, how far did your plane actually go with 500 mw?

  • @KingHaggis nevermind, i read your PM next. lol

  • I'll do that. As soon as I get my voltage regulator and as soon as the weather improves. We have rain and storms here in the Netherlands. Not much of a summer at the moment :-S

In the mean time, maybe you can try a different antenna. Or see if the antenna makes good contact with its socket. Or maybe one of the two (TX or RX) is defect, doesn't get enough power or whatever. Or maybe you have damaged wires or bad soldering? Also, ask the seller/manufacturer for tips and ask around on forums.

  • I received my 5.8GHz 200mw rx/tx this week from Hobby Wireless. Very fast delivery service to the Netherlands. My compliments :-)

Now I'll try it out as soon as I get my stuff up and running.

  • @KingHaggis

Hi , you have already tested your system?

I am in belgium , i tested my system but i get no more then 30 meters range , very dissapointing , i tried different channels , but all are the same... i use 2.4ghz for RC... Can u tell me about the performance of your system?

    Greetings , Seb

  • @SebastienDS Hi! No I haven't tried it yet but can't wait to find out how it performs. Right now I'm still waiting for a voltage regulator since I have a 5v camera. I think this 5.8GHz. system is made by BEVrc and I have high expectations of it. I've seen a groundtest on youtube and it reached more than 3km's. That's far for a 200mw system. Type this in youtube and you'll see: tx-rx test range 5,8ghz-200mw

I'll post my results here as soon as I get my regulator and get everything working.

  • @SebastienDS by the way, do you use a good patch antenna for your current system? Even a 10mw 2.4ghz set should perform better than 30 meters. Keep the antenna pointed towards the model as much as possible and preferably use 200mw or more. Always use a radio with a different frequency than your video tx/rx. Place the video tx as far away as possible from the radio receiver and fly in regions with no wifi router interference.

    I'm sure 2.4GHz. will go further than 30m. Give it a 2nd chance! :-)

  • @KingHaggis

Hi , i have just tested it again in my garden but i am still stuck at 30 meters... I do not understand.. i have a 5.8ghz 200mw ?? And no , i am not using a patch antenna , only the stock whip antennas... but still , with those stock antennas i should get a LOT more than 30meters...

  • @SebastienDS oh, I misunderstood then. I thought you had a 2.4GHz. video setup and wanted to switch to this 5.8GHz.

Well, it's not good to hear you're getting such bad results. I hope I won't have the same bad luck as you have. If I get 30 meters too, then I guess this product sucks. If I don't, maybe your set is malfunctioning and you should send it back. I'll let you know my results as soon as possible. It's strange cause this tx/rx should reach quite far. Is it the same as on this video?

  • @SebastienDS Also keep in mind, that 5.8GHz. is line of sight only. You only get a good image when you keep the tx and rx directly in sight of each other. A tracking antenna may be a good idea with this setup. I have bought an optional 8dbi patch antenna and until I have a good tracking system, I should try and keep my plane in a direct line of sight. A lower bandwith system gives you a much broader range but 5.8GHz. is the only option for me at the moment.

I hope I get good results.

  • @KingHaggis

yep i knew that , 5.8ghz does not penetrate objects. If possible , keep me posted about the performance of your system , and , could you also do a quick test with the stock antenna's only? just to see if a patch antenna could solve my problem

  • @SebastienDS ur lucky im getting about 5-10 foot range at best. using standard 2db antennes. not impressed at all.

  • @vickishortland Still haven't tested mine, but I will soon. I hope I'll get better results as you guys.

  • @vickishortland That's because of a bad setup for sure. Make sure there's distance between your receiver and Vtx.

  • What OSD is this?

  • Just bought this rx/tx combo today. I eagerly await its arrival. Hope its as good as this video proves. I've read good things about it on forums.

  • very nice, which high gain antenna was it?
