I'd be impressed if it wasn't a well known fact that chamelions change their colour primarily as a social signal. They camoflage only when threatened, and it isn't a direct colour match like in this video.

@mosaicism105 i dunno bought that i had a buddy with one and it would in fact blend to its background. course i asked him how his lizard was red the cage had a red background and light and it changed to it. a few month later same lizard but green being he removed the red light and background. of course he did say the changes take a wile for it to fully work.

Fake as shit, looks like they used Final cut pro's 3-way color correction with the Limit Effect tab engaged then duplicated the clip for each color. To change the color, I'm guessing they feather-faded each duplicate copy one off the next color clip as the timeline progressed.
