This type of shot is sometimes called a "whip shot" or "fouetté shot" because the end of the shaft flexes (like the end of a whip) after the hit (e.g., usually to prevent a double hit when there is a small gap between the cue ball and object ball).
Unfortunately, many casual and novice players don't know who Mike Massey is and really don't appreciate the skill involved with many of the shots in his exhibition.

Thanks for the comments. It was a pleasure to meet and work with Mike. He was in Fort Collins for an exhibition, and he graciously agreed to let me record video. I only wish the lighting, background noise, camera angles could have been better. A crowded pool hall isn't always the best setting for high quality video production.
