having had this bed for 4-5 months now, I can now say my stance has NOT changed.
Still an amazing bed, best sleep I've ever had. I do have to say it does sleep a bit hot during the summer time but it's not that bad. off gassing goes away after a day. I do pay $130 for this mattress but I do not whine about the price because of the increased sleep.'ve been more active and more alive. I've been going to the gym and I've already lost 30 lbs, all of this stemming from a great nights sleep.
WE GET IT, YOU ARE CHEAP...YOU HAVE A CHEAP BED AND THE INTERNET, NOW GET A LIFE...............
I HAVE A JOB, IF I WANT TO SPEND $2,000 ON A BED THEN SO BE IT, IF I WANT A $10,000 CAR SO BE IT, IF I WANT TO GOT TO COLLEGE AND SPEND $150,000 ON MY EDUCATION SO BE IT, BACK TO THE BED, IT'S NOT A BIG EXPENSE IN EVERYONE'S LIFE............
BY THE WAY: These companies know that people will have problems with their beds. If it weren't for my back problems I would be sleeping on a regular $500 bed not a $2,000 one. And no, I am not fat, I am 5ft 11 and weigh 175 pounds and my tempurpedic has lost its "memory" and is torn. Thanks, I hope this has helped.
IF THIS GUY IS SAYING that foam does not break down (sag) then he simply is not qualified to make an opinion. I own a tempurpedic and they do sag and lose their memory foam capabilites. ALL foam breaks down over time to some extent. Right now I am filing a warranty claim on my bed after 4 years of ownership, it has a 17 inch tear in it right now. Why do you think that in the warranty of these beds it talks about sagging and ripping? Because that is exactly what happens to the beds!!
I have a bad back, I had surgery to replace a disc, I also have herniated disc in my neck and mid back, surgery was on lower back..My question is what bed/mattress would be better for m?, such as Sealy Posturepedic, Sleep Number, or Tempurpedic. I Mean better far as comfort and not waking up stiff and being able to relax and sleep without tossing and turning. . Thank you to anyone that can/will answer.
I spend 8 hours per day in bed. I dont want to spend the other 16 remaining to PAY for it.. An "investment in good sleep" as you say, can be made for much less with no loss in quality. If I paid that much for a bed, THAT would in and of itself interfere with my sleep. And it should interfere with yours as well.
I suggest that there is NO bedding system on this earth that ought to cost more than a good used car. The retail sticker price of this product is preposterous, even if a hooker is included in the deal. I consider any and all who would pay such prices for a Temperpedic, (or for that matter a Craftomatic) have more money, (or credit) than they have good sense. Lots of equally good bedding available at a small fraction of the price.
@pizzpoor I do agree somewhat, it maybe overpriced but for the tradeoff is the best night sleep I've ever had in YEARS. I picked up a Tempurpedic Rhapsody and ya off-gassing is an issue at first but it went away quick. The cost did scare us but when we thought about it, its an investment in ourselves we're willing to take.
If you have decent credit you can get this for about $130-$150 at Mor Furniture, they're a great company.
@pizzpoor you spend how much of your time in a car? you spend on average 8 hours a day in bed, you spend more time in your bed than anywhere else, why would you complain about making an investment in good sleep?
most people spend $10,000-50,000 on a car/truck but hate to spend more than they have to on a bed.... sillyness
we got a temperpedic mattress;;;;shit . it,s awful . i have aches and pains everywhere since buying it . we get light hesded after sleeping on it ......and a sensation of sea sickness , not too mention all the pains . we,re hoping to get our money back .......we will see..
I called Tempur-Pedic 5 times to find out what chemicals they use to make the foam mattress. I was disgusted by there response. Drop off phone calls, transferred me to wrong numbers, and then told me they can not tell me. Polyurethane foam can contain; acetaldehyde, benzene, limonene, styrene,
and formaldehyde. I have a right to know what I am breathing in for 30% of my life spent on a mattress. It is shameful that a large company can not be honest, what are they hiding??!!
It was the best investment I've ever made. We often say to ourselves that our bed is the best. One thing to note is that, my brother-in-law said he bought one off of ebay, but it felt different and I didn't like it. I'm thinking it's a knockoff. We bought ours direct from Tempurpedic. So be careful if you're not buying direct.
I have the original Tempurpedic mattress purchased in 1999. When I got it for first few days it had chemical smells, but it went away. I have to say that was the only thing that's bad about it. I bought it as I got married and it's been 12 yrs and the mattress is flat as it was originally. I have the mattress on a platform bed and we're still using it. Also, We still use the same Tempurpedic pillow. We like it so much we take our pillow when we have to go anywhere overnight.
I have to totally disagree having bought a new tempurpedic cloud two weeks ago. It was fantastic for two weeks. Now it is the bed of torture. The foam is shot and compresses deeply and there is no support. Their website even says over time the beds get softer. Two Weeks? I feel these beds are a total rip off. In my opinion foam mattresses are crap. This is why so many spring mattresses are also crap. They all use foam. Foam degrades this = sags and zero support.
@Zorrlings Better yet,if you feel the need to jump on the bed with a glass of wine on the corner,it'll actually NOT fall over,yeah...you can also use it as a trampoline while not sippin' on some good ol' wine :D
my story in a blog: askmeaboutmytempurpedicdotcom, is not professional because i am new at this and I CAN`T SLEEP because my ergo never been replaced.

I have one and It still sleeps hot. I had to purchase a cotton cover to put over the other cover just to deal with the heat. I've had to replace my foundation four times in a year. I've only had it for a year. The last foundation that came to me was already broken coming off the truck.
I'm sure u don't have one- the Tempurpedic Bed. It become too soft after 3 years used, bring back-pain, and to return and exchange, it takes a long long long process and so much trouble that you will end up buy a new one, but no more Tempurpedic!
If you're seriously thinking about getting these beds, don't cheap out and get a standard memory foam. It was nice for the first two weeks, now the pains are just as much as before.
Our backs (Spinal Cord , Vertebrae ) is an important bridge to pass information ad data between our organs and our computer (the brain) and with this information being broken down due to the night after night of sleeping uncomfortably eventually breaks our human bodies down. By nature our backs seem to be weak . Why ad a crappy sleeping surface to our lives. SCREW matteress companies. Why SCREW them ? because we need them and they dont give a shit about your back or mines. All they care for $
i think the way to go (As far as Health) is to increase the gauge size (make really thick) of each spring on traditional mattresses of course toughing up the upper layer of the mattress . Those rinkidinki springs wear out, and memory foam makes alot of people sick in many ways. Put shock absorbers in the mattress. People REST/SLEEP is very essential to our bodies for overall good quality of health. These crappy surfaces we sleep on do not let us enjoy our (Awake or asleep) lives.
@danigurrl26 im getting my cloud supreme in like a day or so!!!! i have never layed on such an amazing bed before these ppl dont know what their talking about, obviously their just jealous at the fact that they dont have 1 lol ^_^
@Raverjuggalo I was forced into tempupedic cloud when I moved in with my girlfriend. The 1st year was total torture...finally im starting to get used to it but I miss my spring matersses every morning. I still toss and turn liek crazy, the foam gets super heated from body heat and wakes me in sweat drench, and sometimes my arms and legs go numb when they sink too deep into the foam. Good luck getting used to that :\
@MyFishyWishy wow sounds more like your girl got a cheap knock off lol jk but i have heard of hella people that have the exact same issues, i have never had any of those issues,...ever, aqnd i have had my bed for like 3 or 4 months now, and it's deff, the best sleep i have ever gotten, no sweat, no numbness, no tossing and turning, maybe tempur-pedic isn't for every1 or you're just used to the spring matress dude, but maybe you should find a way to mix springs with tempur material you know?

After 15 years of absolutely blissful sleep on a classic Tempurpedic, it's time to go out and buy a new bed. In the past few months we've not been sleeping solidly through the night as we have for a decade and a half. Due to budget concerns we thought about going with a Bob-o-pedic but simply can't bring ourselves to that lower standard after having had the real deal for so long.
The response of the memory foam to body heat makes it even more comfortable as it sculpts itself better around the body, therefore reducing back pains etc. and less tossing and turning, but then it also traps heat which is extremely irritating to many people, especially myself where warmth is essential in winter but not heat.
oh and how much did you get paid from Tempurpedic to say this. I'm going to buy a tempurpedic, get pissed off at it and then blame YOU!!!! thanks buddy
I have to say that since I got my tempur pedic bed a few days ago I've kissed my back pain good bye. I was sleeping on a pillow top mattress, which is nice, but the springs really cut into my back and hip joints, and ouch, did I feel it when I woke up in the morning, with the tempur pedic I don't fee that anymore, it's fantastic.
Read the law label & look at the photo in their brochure that shows the layers it's POLYURETHANE FOAM!!! These mattresses have a planned obsolence of 5 - 7 years. Synthetic mattresses require chemical flame retardants. All you need is a organic mattress from Savvy Rest, it's much better than Tempurpedic (tm). I love mine.
I have owned my Tempurpedic for almost 4 years- for the first two years it was great- now I cant stand it, it sags horribly causing you to roll to the center of the bed. I wake up every morning in pain, which was not the case for the first two years. 2,300.00 was a lot to spend on a mattress that was only good for two years.
I would not recommend it.
I would also like to know what kind of kick backs this guy is getting for saying tempur-pedics dont sag.
Damn false advertizement.. My lower back is bursting, and i can not even MOVE with it not hurting. The bed smells and it is hard as a damn rock. RATING 0-10..0.. I actually had to go to a hotel a couple of nights just for there bed! It does not releive back pain,it increases it 100 fold!
Let me guess, the salesperson told you that & you believed them. Look at the law label it will say 100% visco elastic polyurethane foam. Visco Elastic is polyurethane with additional chemicals increasing its viscosity and density. You can't make memory foam without Polyurethane foam. The proof is in the law label.
Why don't you tell them how toxic it is? Made from polyurethane foam, petroleum oil. Did you know it takes a 55 gallon drum of petroleum oil to make just one queen size memory foam mattress? Petroleum oil causes cancer, Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons, Polygycols & Polybrominated Diphenyol Ethers. That will surely put you to sleep. In fact you might not wake up either! Now you know why you sleep hot, it's like sleeping in a gas station. Flame retardants & petroleum oil. Get the point!
You guys are dumb. Here is the truth right here and believe this. It uses to sleep hot but they have new models with air flow now that's the one I have. You absolutley do now wake up with back pain in the morning and it is absolutley the most comfortable matress youbwill ever sleep on. Is it worth the money I would say it is because it will be the last matress you will buy in your lifetime because it doesent wear out and it is that comfortable.
It is still a hot bed, I fry every night. Horrible customer service, they lie, record everything. Their 90 day trial is b.s. They don't take back the $400 base, and they charge you shipping. Thats about $600 you don't get back after the 90 day RISK FREE trial.

The cells, NOT LIKE regular and knock off memory foams, are shaped like basically whiffel balls; so they let air travel in all directions, making it virtually IMPOSSIBLE for the hot air to get trapped in the foam. If you are hot while you sleep it is because your blood is ACTUALLTY circulating like it should be. Coils push up on your body and gravity pushes down, creating pressure that cuts of your blood supply. Statistics say that people sleep better at cooler temp. or lay off thick comforters.
After the first night of sleep on our cloud mattress, fantastic sleep! Our second night fantastic!- we have 88 days to go. I will NEVER sleep on a spring mattress again. My back and neck feel better already. Cheers.
I have a tempurpedic and I tell you- worst bed ever! I wake up every morning in pain and all hot and my back is killing me! I called the salesman at Sleepys and he said it takes time to adjust, until the bed gets broken-in...WTF. I also had to endure the nasty smell for two weeks after I bought it...I am jumping ship and returning this shitty bed...getting my money back.
I had one of these bed s and paid $4800 for it and they sleep hot, kill your back and can't be returned. I cut it open and only a small part of it is there space age foam the rest is normal foam P.S. they SUCK
Do not buy this bed!!! I bought this bed back in 08 in full size and it basically fucked up my spine. I now have chronic back pain after sleeping on it for 2yrs and now i have to sleep on the fucking floor to relieve the pain on my back! You've been warned.
@DatboiR0b If a mattress was fucking up my spine I would stop using it well within 2 years! what were you thinking?? would you live next to a nuclear dumping site until you started glowing yellow, and then move house? Please explain more about what happened to you
If you bought if directly from the company, you could have returned it within 90 days and got your money back. Nothing works right for everybody, but this bed is like a family member to me. If I lost it I would be a mess. I have a hard time going on vacation if the hotel we stay in does not have tempurpedic as an option.
Hello everybody, i have temperpedic matrreses fore sale. for less then half price at retail stores. there all brand new in box and sealed. These matresses are real temperpedic mastreses. Email if interested and i accept paypal so there no wayi could scam you if i tried. i can take picture if needed. email asap these are going fast exspecialy during the holliday seasons.
I am getting mine delivered today. I had put off the purchase of the bed because of the heat issue. The company added breathable air channels to the bed to cool it down. The smell is in about 1 out every 50 beds. My salesman said if you have the smell to cut a green apple into quarters and place it on a plate on the bed and the apple will absorb the oder. I am not at all worried about the sagging issue. However it does take 3-4 weeks to "break-in" meaning its a bit stiff when first used.
I'm not sure about the green apple thing, but the smell is not harmful in any way to you. If it bothers you I would try a dish ful of vinegar. it takes the bad smells out of my kitchen and bathrooms...then when the smell is gone, dump it down the drain.
sealy posturepedic (ensemble, not just mattress) are an innerspring with various comfort layers, some include memory foam, most include latex. sealy posturepedic are still the best beds imho.
tempurpedic beds are the absolute worst bed to own. I have had it for 14 months, Have been in pain for the last 8 months. cronic hip pain, back pain. there is sagging and it is unbearably hot. I actually slept on the floor last night. The worst $3800.00 we have ever spent.
I bought this bed 2 years or so ago and hate it. I have never slept worse. Honestly, I sleep better on the floor at this point. I really feel suckered on this bed especially from the great reviews. I experienced the same issues with chemical smells (went away after few months), heating (fixed with padding), and now sagging. This bed is worse than conventional mattress IMHO..
so say i want to buy tempurpedic. and i want the "originalbed". since that one came out first would it smell bad and be hot? or do you think they would have addressed the problem with that bed as well as the ones made after?
The Original bed does not have an airflow system. It will sleep warmer than the rest of them. I recommend the Deluxe with the dual air flow. That's what I got.
How long ago were those negative issues true with the tempurpedic bed? I just bought what i guess is their classic and basic mattress. It was a closeout sale, 500 for the whole bed, so I imagine it wasn't a new one. I just hope that the issues were fixed before that bed went on sale.
having had this bed for 4-5 months now, I can now say my stance has NOT changed.

@natazer my friend has this mattress but hasnt had it long,
so im sorta sceptical whether this is legit or not,
i thought about buying it but decided not to for the sole reason ive seen it on infomecials
anything I have bought that i have seen on tv = garbage.

I literally laughed out loud.

Damn false advertizement.. My lower back is bursting, and i can not even MOVE with it not hurting. The bed smells and it is hard as a damn rock. RATING 0-10..0.. I actually had to go to a hotel a couple of nights just for there bed! It does not releive back pain,it increases it 100 fold!
lilkid91 1 year ago
Let me guess, the salesperson told you that & you believed them. Look at the law label it will say 100% visco elastic polyurethane foam. Visco Elastic is polyurethane with additional chemicals increasing its viscosity and density. You can't make memory foam without Polyurethane foam. The proof is in the law label.
scarlettsmommy01 1 year ago
Why don't you tell them how toxic it is? Made from polyurethane foam, petroleum oil. Did you know it takes a 55 gallon drum of petroleum oil to make just one queen size memory foam mattress? Petroleum oil causes cancer, Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons, Polygycols & Polybrominated Diphenyol Ethers. That will surely put you to sleep. In fact you might not wake up either! Now you know why you sleep hot, it's like sleeping in a gas station. Flame retardants & petroleum oil. Get the point!
scarlettsmommy01 1 year ago
You guys are dumb. Here is the truth right here and believe this. It uses to sleep hot but they have new models with air flow now that's the one I have. You absolutley do now wake up with back pain in the morning and it is absolutley the most comfortable matress youbwill ever sleep on. Is it worth the money I would say it is because it will be the last matress you will buy in your lifetime because it doesent wear out and it is that comfortable.

How long ago did you get it?
And yeah most companys say they will return everything 'free of charge'
but these 'free trials' are scams to trick you to think you can try the product and return it
if you dont like it butl in reality they end up causing you to lose money, that maybe you cannot afford to lose.
FailWhaleIsFail 1 year ago

I also had to endure the nasty smell for two weeks after I bought it...I am jumping ship and returning this shitty bed...getting my money back.
vicky1220 2 years ago
I had one of these bed s and paid $4800 for it and they sleep hot, kill your back and can't be returned. I cut it open and only a small part of it is there space age foam the rest is normal foam P.S. they SUCK

Do not buy this bed!!! I bought this bed back in 08 in full size and it basically fucked up my spine. I now have chronic back pain after sleeping on it for 2yrs and now i have to sleep on the fucking floor to relieve the pain on my back! You've been warned.

martinpodmusic 2 years ago
If you bought if directly from the company, you could have returned it within 90 days and got your money back. Nothing works right for everybody, but this bed is like a family member to me. If I lost it I would be a mess. I have a hard time going on vacation if the hotel we stay in does not have tempurpedic as an option.

what size bed do you have for sale.,
tragicpaper 2 years ago
I am getting mine delivered today. I had put off the purchase of the bed because of the heat issue. The company added breathable air channels to the bed to cool it down. The smell is in about 1 out every 50 beds. My salesman said if you have the smell to cut a green apple into quarters and place it on a plate on the bed and the apple will absorb the oder. I am not at all worried about the sagging issue. However it does take 3-4 weeks to "break-in" meaning its a bit stiff when first used.
EverdayLuv 2 years ago
I'm not sure about the green apple thing, but the smell is not harmful in any way to you. If it bothers you I would try a dish ful of vinegar. it takes the bad smells out of my kitchen and bathrooms...then when the smell is gone, dump it down the drain.
zoefaith311 1 year ago
Is the tepur pedic bed comfy with no smell?I havent bought it,I just wanna sleep 100 percent comfy.

tempur material is simply memory foam.
sealy posturepedic (ensemble, not just mattress) are an innerspring with various comfort layers, some include memory foam, most include latex. sealy posturepedic are still the best beds imho.
mikehoncho73 2 years ago
The material used as the topper on those mattresses is a knock off and made in China. Not the same.

tempurpedic beds are the absolute worst bed to own. I have had it for 14 months, Have been in pain for the last 8 months. cronic hip pain, back pain. there is sagging and it is unbearably hot. I actually slept on the floor last night. The worst $3800.00 we have ever spent.
phillusa 2 years ago
if its sagging, they'll swap it out. why didn't you return it with their risk free 90 day trial if it didn't feel comfortable? can you blame them??

I bought this bed 2 years or so ago and hate it. I have never slept worse. Honestly, I sleep better on the floor at this point. I really feel suckered on this bed especially from the great reviews. I experienced the same issues with chemical smells (went away after few months), heating (fixed with padding), and now sagging. This bed is worse than conventional mattress IMHO..

so say i want to buy tempurpedic. and i want the "originalbed". since that one came out first would it smell bad and be hot? or do you think they would have addressed the problem with that bed as well as the ones made after?
ZoeEatsPlanets 2 years ago
The Original bed does not have an airflow system. It will sleep warmer than the rest of them. I recommend the Deluxe with the dual air flow. That's what I got.

i have tis matress and i hate it i told my dad i hated it so e bought me another 1 LOL

How long ago were those negative issues true with the tempurpedic bed? I just bought what i guess is their classic and basic mattress. It was a closeout sale, 500 for the whole bed, so I imagine it wasn't a new one. I just hope that the issues were fixed before that bed went on sale.
