If you all read the Consumer Reports & reviews on both Verizon and AT&T, you'll see for yourself that AT&T has way more unsatisfied customers than Verizon does & that at least 1/2 of AT&Ts reviews are negative & that most of Verizons reviews are positive & that Verizon is still kicking AT&Ts ass in the competition.
With verizon phones, you can't do anything with your phone while you are recieving a message. And at&t has the fastest 3g. Verizon's 3G is no better than EDGE. I have never had a problem with at&t voice coverage.

AT&T said that they are rolling out LTE in 2011 instead of 2010 because the majority of the LTE devices are projected to come out that year instead of the year before. But it would be a good idea for them to start now

High Speed today is now considered 3g. ex. EVDO and HSPSA. Not EDGE which is 2g. Sides Verizon is moving on to 4g LTE next year. 2 years ahead of att.
It is a great commercial I will give it that, but here is another tidbit to chew on. AT&T's EDGE network is actually considered Highs-peed too. Which totals more high speed coverage nation and world wide, not to mention if you are an iPhone, Blackberry, or WinMo phone user you get free access to all AT&T Wi-Fi hotspots.

didnt realize I was speaking to a fellow network engineer. Of course its EVDO Rev A. the progression from Rev 0 - Rev A was a very simple rollout and was completed back in 2007. And its not showing 1x only areas, that map is almost completely covered with nowhere near the holes.
HSDPA+ is not 4G its a continuation of 3G evolution. Youre correct, their plan is to continue development of 3g until they've fully tapped its potential, but most see this as long term waste. Yes, new handsets will be needed for customers to take advantage of LTE but I change handsets roughly every 3-4 months so I'm not concerned. LTE will range between 8-12Mbps based on testing.

While AT&T pisses me off on a daily basis with my iPhone, it should be noted that Verizon is number 1 now because they bought previous number 4 company Alltel, not because people switched to Verizon. When I used to have Alltel, they had coverage everywhere I went and all throughout my house, my friends with Verizon didn't even have as good of coverage. Oh and now I can be standing in front of a window in my house and not get service with AT&T.
Not sure where u r getting your stats about "at&t soaks up there profit". the reality is that T, has invested over $36 Billion into upgrading their network in 08 and 09. I agree T was behind VZ, but it is fast catching up. While VZ is stuck at 3.4 GB download, T is deploying 7.2gb & because they are gsm, they have a pathway to accelerate that further. VZ MUST go to 4G, as their system leaves them (& Sprint) stuck at 3.4. Enjoy VZ while u can, me & my iPhone on T will leave u in the dust.

Well do you want to know why AT&T is better than Verizon.
1st Which is most important is that AT&T is the only carrier that allows you to multi task. (talk on the phone and surf the net)
2nd Verizon costs way more in the long run with all of the hidden fees.
3rd Which is not a good reason is that ATT does have less towers but they are trying to catch up they can only build so many towers a year.

actually AT&T wireless was a cell company that changed to CINGULAR (after merge) to merge again into AT&T Wireless again....
and FYI - some of the alltel purchase went to AT&T
and yes - AT&T covers major markets - but only major cities.... verizon does that and more - that's the point!
