Also, the reason that they don't make the whole ship out of the Force's material is this: Forces are made from Bydo tissue, and this introduces two problems:

1. If the whole ship is made of Bydo Tissue, it's one step away from being a Bydo monstrosity itself.

2. As visible in the video, what the tissue doesn't destroy on contact simply passes through it. A Ship made of Bydo tissue would either obliterate the pilot or the pilot would simply fall through it.

@thetruemetroid They died cause they were too close to the explosion, that was the reasl story in super r type. The R-9 Ddint de cause he was outta the explosion.

Stage 3 looks next to impossible. That's a great example of why I don't play these games. How did you manage to do this run without breaking the controller?

I can beat this game on the GB R-Type-DX package, but the music seems slightly annoying compared to that version. A bit more tinny and screechy.

the least amount of lives i've gone through in a single level of R-TYPE II is 3. i suppose if i keep studying this video and trying i'll be as good as T-0815.
