@Mabetini Jack Coleman will always make me feel all tingly inside. The rest of the world is full of nothing but imposters who never make me feel tingly inside.
If you prefer actors that are good looking, yet wooden and deliver their lines through their teeth, than I can see why you would prefer Jack Coleman. However, I prefer actors that can bring an emotional depth to the characters they play, which is why I prefer Al. And it doesn't hurt that he was also the original Steven Carrington. Recasts are almost always worse than the original actors.
@bfsgman Ah, so imposter actually means a wooden actor who can't bring an emotional depth to the characters he plays. It's good to know. You prefer Al and others prefer Jack Coleman. Hey, that's life.
Yes, and I'm fine with that. It's just that almost everybody I've ever come across that preferred Jack Coleman as Steven has cited his looks as their reason why.
Dynasty recast all 4 Carrington children over the years, and the recasts never measured up to the original actors IMO. To each their own, though.
@bfsgman It's not his fault that he's a good looking guy and I really don't know anyone who said they preferred Jack Coleman just because he is handsome. Yes, that is a huge plus, but when I watched Dynasty for the first time ever (before I was a Jack Coleman fan) I immediately thought Steven no. 2 was a better Steven, especially because of his fragile looks. Also, it's not his fault how they wrote this character (yes, all that bi/gay/not gay stuff ).
@MrNoahBennet Also, I don't think Jack, as an actor, deserves to be called an "imposter". I am not even sure what you are trying to say with that. He was doing what he was told to do. He's a good actor ( and even better now) and according to many people I came across, he is great human being.
I'm sure he is a great person, and I was never disputing that. I even said I thought he has improved as an actor from what I've seen of him on Heroe's. However, he just never felt like Steven Carrington to me. That's all I meant by "imposter."
I will say that some of this did come down to the way the character was written after Al left.
@bfsgman He had a very though job, he was only 23, that role was a recast and it was quite controversial at the time and also, Dynasty was becoming a huge show. After he joined the cast, Dynasty got record ratings. I know it was an ensemble show, but at least he didn't ruin the show or anything even though his role was an important part of the show. I guess he did pretty good? His castmates always spoke highly of him. Yes, in Heroes, he was excellent. Enjoying instead of bashing, it's more fun!
Even though Banjamin franklin was British.

@bfsgman Thanks for sharing. Perhaps you shouldn't be watching Jack Coleman videos.

@MrNoahBennet
I found this video after looking at some Dynasty clips. I didn't realize it was a big deal to offer an opposing opinion.
For what it's worth, I think Coleman has improved as an actor now that he's on Hero's. I just didn't like him on Dynasty.
