  • Maybe this was Tim and Eric's first directing venture

  • wow,all these years later and max headroom is still lame.. thought it might be cooler as an adult but no...worse...fuck you max headroom.

  • Max couldnt help Coca Cola sell New Coke.

  • @MrJacMac1986 - Ever had New Coke? It was pretty bad...

  • @ToiletBomberAlpha Yeah I was a junior in high school when it came out. I was pissed at Coca Cola for doing that.Glad they gave people back Coke Classic.Wished they hadnt switched from cane sugar to High fructose corn syrup as their sweetener. New Coke was basically Pepsi.

  • Omg! The first ever YouTube Poop!

  • i like how way back then they thought in the future technology would be faulty, twitchy, an wouldnt work correctly durin mid-use, because twenty years later they couldnt be more right.

  • Fucking windows vista....

  • The real image of Max was not computer generated. Computing technology in the mid-1980s was not sufficiently advanced for a full-motion, voice-synced human head to be practical for a television series. Max's image was actually that of actor Matt Frewer in latex and foam prosthetic makeup with a fiberglass suit created by Peter Mackenzie Litten and John Humphreys of Coast to Coast Productions in the UK. This was then superimposed over a moving geometric background.

  • is that Danica McKellar at :06 from Wonder Years that played Winnie Cooper ?

  • dude this terrifies me deep down inside...

  • It's pretty funny to watch this while listening to any Crystal Castles song... namely, Crimewave.

  • "Catch the wave?"

What kind of slogan is that?

  • One that's so dumb only Coke could use it.

  • @SgtHydra well.. For one, their logo is a wave

  • He is so Pure so perfect like a Boss

  • OMG it's it's it's....weiRD

  • no, not even, CGI didnt exist then, they filmed a real person in a rubber mask, behind a "green screen" which they just filled with graphics

  • CGI existed, it just wasn't as big as it is now. Remember this was around the same time as the "Money for Nothing" video, which was majority CGI save for the actual parts with Dire Straits.

  • @FSinWCR it began in the late 80's when they were messing around with wire frame models on the computers the acual term CGI wasnt even coined until the late 90's

  • @rad4life1 Actually CGI did exist back then, but yeah they didn't use it here. If you remember Dire Straights video from that time period used CGI.

  • @rad4life1 Its amazing how close it came to the concept of CGI.

  • @rad4life1 I Don't think he's wearing a mask. XD

  • You know what this is? Youtube poops long before youtube even existed

  • @Boothkk I agree. Max Headroom is the father of YTP.

  • @Boothkk see also: space ghost coast to coast

  • nerdddddddddddd!

  • Except he was actually a guy in a mask. The background was the only thing computer generated.

  • no he wasn't! he was just in prosthetics!

  • It was a guy in a latex mask research your history.

  • Not bad CGI for the 80's, eh?

  • tite

  • scary

  • Always thought pops was forced to overact with the american productions.

  • This guy always kind of creeped me out. How do people come up with this stuff?

  • Max Rules! Bring him back!

  • Almost sounds like Jim Carrey!

  • Oh wait, actually it sounds more like that guy from that show Sci Factor (which I doubt anyone remembers).

  • Woops again, it's actually spelled Psi Factor and his name's Matt Frewer.

  • No biggie. I guess "Third time's a charm" applies. Maybe Jim watched this clip and got hooked on it. LOL
