on the contrary, many metal drummers have studied other forms of drumming before moving onto metal. hellhammer studied jazz drumming. this aint just speed. theyre clearly using an extensive knowledge of rudiments as well.

Dude.... extreme metal drummers like Max Kolesne are very skilled. Playing slower stuff like drummers you named, is a piece of cake for them. Extreme metal drummers are in general the best drummers in the world, if you don't believe it check out other drummers as well like Hellhammer from Mayhem, Flo Mounier from cryptopsy, and George Kollias from Nile.
