Next time tell your customer you would be willing to buy back the dummy cakes. I have always suggested this to my customers and they all have taken me up on the offer. Most of the time the customer do not want to save the dummy cakes as they have no place to put it and they can "draw" ants. Doesn't hurt to offer as all they can do is say "no".
Love your cake, i always wanna try something like this. But i'm afraid i would kill it on my way to the party. May i ask how you usually transfer the cake? I mean..i'm afraid to just put it in a box and drive around with it.
Your cake is beautiful. I made something similar using delphinium blue color for the cake and beige for the concentric circles. If you don't mind I'd like to use your design for the mini cakes I will be making for my husband's 50th birthday. Thank you for the inspiration.
OMG thank you for mentioning how to get the powdered sugar off with the crisco! I just started about 2 months ago, and I was using a tiny paint brush and water, paper towels, dry brushing...nothing got it all and nothing was that shiny and pretty! Thanks!
I have a question, I am making a Fondant Cake tomorrow (monday) for my husands birthday on tuesday. I was wondering will the Fondant Cake stay good till I serve it on tuesday? And if so where do I store it. I was just worried, I didnt want this cake to fall apart or be hard. Another question, whats the best way to keep the decorations in place on the cake without falling off? Thank you :)
@MrsHighballer99 Google 'piping gel' and look at one of the first images that shows up. You can buy a tub of it in the baking section of your local Michael's/craft store.
this is hillarious! today i attempted to make a fondant cake and i make gum balls with marshmellows! sob haha total failure...my friend came over to make it with me and we couldnt stop laughing at ourselves. my microwave is glued shut...lol
This is a beautiful cake...You now have a new fan! I haven't yet used fondant for my cakes, but after seeing a few of your videos, I'm now willing to give it a try...God Bless and keep the inspiration coming! You do great work!
How many does the 10 inch feed? Im making a cake for my daughter's 8th birthday and I dont think I'll have more than 20-25 people. The foam is a great idea and I think I may try it! Thanks :) ps.- she likes a combo of your fondant cake # 15 and your 8th. :) I love your cakes!!

what kind of fondant do you use? wiltons is nasty, home made is not the right texture... i am frustrated because I am really good with butter cream but fondant is on another level. I need help.
Have you tried Marshmallow fondant, 2 pounds of powdered sugar and 1 pound of marshmallows. Melt the marshmallows in the microwave at 30 second intervals with abotu 5 tablespoons of water (I actually add flavoring rather than water) and cover your hands and work surface with Crisco and mix together, I love thsi stuff and it is way cheaper than buying it
this is for icing the cake only, if you want crusting icing or to make decorations(flowers, etc) leave out the butter.
sift the drys together, cream the others and slowly add the dry to the creamed mixture. use the milk or water as needed so get the desired consistancy too dry add more water, too wet add more sugar.

Hey! Great cake! I haven't really started making cakes, but I really am getting inspired by watching all the youtube videos. What can you add for making the fondant harder? Hope you get to reply. Thanks!
I would love for you to do a tutorial on your stacking method along with a tutorial or instructions on decorating foam as you did with this cake. It is a great idea but I can't seem to find anyone else that has done it. Once again you do great work and you're excellent at explaining the steps you take. Thanks for keeping us all up to date with your projects.
Hi there, I would love to do more tutorials, maybe in the new yr. Unfortunately with the holidays, there isnt that much free time...but I will defenately keep that in mind!
Hi, Cristina! Wow! I think that this cake was pretty big, but maby the cake has to be for many people. Anyway, I like the idea and the circles around each inch of the cake. And the colours fits together. The thing on top looks great, too. And, I hope that, when this cake is going to be eaten, is going to be a great day. Byebye, / Lisen99.
They are gorgeous as always your cake looks so beautiful all the time. I have question to ask what kind of cake you use for that height. Because I am so afraid that my cake might fall in the middle even I used dowel rod. I tend to use heavy cake like banana or carrot cake. I want to try other cake like chiffon or sponge cake but I am afraid. Please let me know. THANKS!
Wow, I love your border and all your circles. What kind of choclate fondant did you use Satin Ice or Homemade it looks perfect as usual you have incredible edible visions!
flawless as usual !!! i also love the graphic design on the cake. others may think this is 'easy' but oh no, these circles will wear your arm off-- and the trick to make it look random takes a bunch of talent too! great job on another masterpiece !

Very Nice! Did you make or buy your Fondant? If you bought it was it already chocolate or did you color it? Also what size pans did you use. Thanks

Hey Christina,
The cake is AMAZING!!!! I love the design.

THANKS!

flawless as usual !!! i also love the graphic design on the cake. others may think this is 'easy' but oh no, these circles will wear your arm off-- and the trick to make it look random takes a bunch of talent too! great job on another masterpiece !

Hi Chris,
Great cake - the chocolate and green colours are a good choice. It looks masculine, but it's still bright and colourful. Nice job!!
