I agree! Leona's performance of this was MUCH better then Catherine. Leona is also a much better overall singer that Katharine. This is evidenced by the fruit of each performer after the got off the show. Leona has a much better career and is internationally more renowed than Katharine. Don't get me wrong Katherine is a very good singer, though. I don't want to subtract from her greatness. But I feel Leona was better.

Definitely superior to McPhee's. But slightly inferior to Tamira Gray's. Leona's version is borrowed from Gray, even the key of the song. Simon Cowell gave Gray a standing ovation for this.

whats amazes me about leona is her control over her vibrato...she goes faster when necessary, but like here, as the song began it was really slow- that one sign of a remarkable voice

Eva sang it with faster much softer and colourful vibrato in the original. the slow vibrato at the beginning adds NOTHING to the song for me. in fact i think its rubbish. and if that was "the best performance he's ever seen" (quote from cowell) that says it all about the crap he usually see's!

Just listened to the Eva Cassidy version and it remains the best but Leona is fantastic - she isnt EVA Mariah or Whitney she is herself and thank goodness for this show it is frightening to think she may never have been discovered she will be huge whatever she sings and I think she will prove she can sing anything - go girl
