Once I discovered that SP3 had better hard drive support - I simply stopped using SP2.

You may need a floppy disc if it requires 3rd party raid drivers during the Windows installation. However service pack 3 does have better support for hard drive controllers. I'm guessing this was prior to service pack 3. But never-the-less he shouldn't have gone off on one just because you wanted to check the details and call back. Then again, you stated that you didn't want to buy the speakers that are supplied, the fact that they were not included in the price shouldn't matter in this case

@jaseman125 Have you ever gotten the "press f6 to install third party driver" floppy to work? I've always had to fiddle in the bios or do some slipstreaming to fix sp2. The floppy seems to always fail.

I can beleive it. I worked at dell and on a rare occasion saw stuff like this. But never as bad as this. Some customers were jerks, but this customer was reasonable.
