I don't really understand why you're handling that snake.. It's a really dangerous snake, and if you want to take a pics of him you don't have to handle it.
A braver man than I. I love snakes, I really do. I will pick up non-venomous snakes that I can readily identify and move it out of the way,but when it comes to venomous ones, I usually just grab it's head from behind the neck after dropping a 10lb brick on it's face.
0:32 at the moment the snake looked at him, he released his tail. it was a must-do thing if he dealt with the kingcobra. because among the snakes only the specie has a capability to attack him with its tail still being held. did he have knowledge or learn it by someone in borneo?
For a fun fact. People who play songs to King Cobra's and they dont attack dont actually play. The Cobra cant hear the tone of what theyre playing they are interested in the moving instrument. If they stop moving the Cobra would attack.
i've seen a King once in Borneo, while i was catching frogs in the wild at night for my study project. It was after rain at 11p.m. I noticed that I was one step away from it when i turn on my torch, it was on my route. That was a big one, the head was almost the same size with my punch (about4/5). I noticed a banded white pattern on its body, yellowish with large scale on it's head. Thank god i was saved, it didn't attacked me.
Honestly Genuine video and not some ego trip! I could tell as he let the snake go just as the cobra turned and hooded up facing him. Stay safe but fufill your dreams!
that guy is a legend, he wasnt doing it for an ego trip because he turned to the camera and admitted that he was scared, but he is genuinely brave and I hope he stays safe in wat he does....
The snake was in perfectly good health it was maybe a little tired as we had to keep it overnight before relocating bu i had a good look over her and she was fine.
I've been to sabah 3 times before. We head out to S.E asia every year to find as many species as we can, but im still yet to catch a King in the wild! Your a very lucky person!
Sounds good mate i've been there 3 times myself i love the country. Yes was very lucky with this find. I was out there trying to photograph retics in the wild we went to the danum valley and the kinabatangan river for three weeks and no pythons. There had been a lot of rain that year and it proved difficult. But finding this was amazing always been a dream of mine and i finally had the pleasure of not only finding one but being able to help. What is it you do?
I actually work for the marine aquatics trade (in the UK), but reptiles are my passion. On a trip earlier this year i caught 3 retics, including a decent 12-13 footer on Pulau Langkawi in malaysia. Borneo wasnt quite so successful this year, with the best catch being a little 2ft Sumatran Spitter, but it was still pretty cool! What zoo do you work for?
It will be in maidstone kent. We dont open till next year its a project that myself and 3 others have been working on for some time now and have finally aquired the investment. We go public with a reptile event on the 11th of feb next year and then its all go from there. I must stop using the word zoo as its going to be more of a reptile education/conservation park. Where abouts in the uk are you based? And have you got a facebook profile can keep you more up to date with the whole project there
Yeh i have facebook, i will email you my details now, that sounds like a very interesting project. Ive got pics up of my trips on facebook, so feel free to have a gander. Im based in the South-west
The point was mate the snake was found near a staff quaters and needed relocating. I had to handle the snake to do that or it would have been killed. What your seeing here is me trying to photograph the snake before i released it I work for a zo and shots of snakes in the wild are always useful for education. I'm there to help the animals not hurt them.
You'll be the dipshit if you take your eyes off the prize again!

It's true King Cobra is huge and seriously dangerous but it's one of the most decent snakes in the world. They don't attack unless you force them.

The black mamba is the largest venomous snake
Fourteen88SoCal 1 year ago
@Fourteen88SoCal
Wrong.
The king cobra is easily the largest (in length), the gaboon is the heaviest bodied, and the black mamba is the fastest (on land).
