I got both my rabbits from a local humane society- many people reject their rabbits a few months after Easter, when the novelty of having a rabbit wears off.
I would encourage everyone to check with a local humane society!
One of our two has a breeding issue- teeth that do not line up, and thus must be trimmed but our local humane society warned us of the issue and we took her anyway as we have a vet in the family. Just be aware and ask questions.
Right. You just need to be aware that the rabbit (to no fault of its own) may have certain issues not found in more controlled breeding (if it has been, say, abandoned after Easter). Then again, you might just find a new friend without any issues. You just never know. :)
This is so depressing. So many in a glass container -no room to hardly move and get a breath of air. Have 3 rescued bunnies - got them all spayed/neutered, litter trained and they have the run of the house. It's great to see how athletic and curious they are-most live their lives in cages like an ornament. It is too sad for words.
You're right! Rabbits are not ornaments and they aren't cage animals at all. They must stretch, run and move constantly, just like a cat or dog. Would anyone place their cat or dog in a cage? Of course not. That's unheard of! Rabbits should be treated with the same respect. Cages are absolutely cruel. People need to really think how they would feel if they spent their whole lives in a glass container or cage. Then, they'd always know how to treat rabbits and most other animals in general.
aww gorjuz but they took on to many bunnys oh well ih ope they sold quickly evan fi u complain about that many in a cage it will go in one ear out the other
holyman soo many in that cage it makes me soo p---ed of why ppl do that , that cage only looks big enough for 1-3 smaller ones if i WAS THERE i would complain to the manager
There are far too many rabbits crammed into that tank, poor things.. it can't be easy to clean out that sort of cage either. I hope that they went to good homes.
That video brought tears to my eye's this video is awesome P.S. I bought a rabbit 5yr ago its sitll living i chose him because rabbits are a mixture of cute, love, caring and a lot others when ya mix it together well. you get a felling of never letting your rabbit go
most of those bunnies arn't pure breds, just muts because humans are stupid and irresponisble. awolfie57 is right, people will just buy them because they are "cute", but rabbits take so much of looking after.
so pathetic. i bet NONE of them are spayed/neutered.
I get your point, but then again I love my "mut" to death. I think I knew more about rabbits then the workers at the pet store I bought mine at, and this is my first rabbit. I never buy a pet without researching first. My friend bought rabbits at the same time I did, but from a breeder, and guess where they are now... On her front porch suffering in the Georgia heat. Never out of their cages, and often forgotten. Not too mention the risk of being shocked to death by wild animals.
They are really gorgeous bunnies but I hate seeing them sold in pet stores instead of being from rescue groups already spayed and neutered. They are sold too spur of the moment and the vast majority of pet stores cannot properly educate the prospective buyer. Most of these will get dumped on a shelter I'll bet.
i want a new bunny, i had an english spotted rabbit, the white with light brown, he was the best bunny inthe whole world, had him for 10 years.... i think its time for a new one!
I have 10 rabbits for sale, we have 14 though. You know, I had a rabbit that was a red brown color with dark brown feet, tail, nose, and ears, his name was Shadow and my brother gave him to me after my duck, Lucky, that we found died. Shadow got killed by my dogs. I so miss him, I am crying right now and I mean it. :_( He was the best rabbit ever, he made me so happy. Especially when he got a girlfriend, but my fucking retarded dogs killed them, I hate my dogs and I will never forgive them!
That's so sad to hear. I have a dwarf lionhead rabbit. And I'd seriously die if she got hurt or died. She really makes me so happy. I'm so so so sorry
The best kind of rabbits are Dutch. They are the cutest and every single one I have ever known has been very kind and they never bite.

I LIKE RABBITS

Rabbits in pet stores tend to come from rabbit mills/farms where breeding/genetics is uncontrolled and unreliable at best.
ALWAYS buy from an experienced private breeder.

Cute bunys, but too sad they have to stay in this small cage.
The most pet stores here have bigger cages with more space an they only put 5-6 healty buns in one.
Ok they cant run so much as they need but they much more happier.

I was just thinking the same thing as a lot of you commented, too many bunnies in there. I'd buy some if I could.

But exactly THIS won't help it but will make all worse! Because if you buy ONE, there'll be five more next day. It's all commercial, poor things.
