I have the same frikin game, and then i played it on xbox, and I was pissed. The gameplay is still good, i like the game alot and play it still but, if the PC gameplay was an young wayne gretzky, than the xbox gameplay would be Brock Lesnar beatng the living crap out of that young wayne. i made the same mistake. actually i bought it for both pc and 360 thinking "wow, cool now i can play nhl 08 at work or in class or on the road! awesome!" but nooooo. nhl 08 for pc was probably the worst videogame i have ever purchased. in retrospect it's probably good that i don't play games in class...

Same thing for the PS2 version its exactly like NHL 07 its bullshit. The only thing they did to it was update the rosters. I hate going to a friends house watching them play NHL 08 on Xbox 360 with all that new shit on it. Hopefully they wont rip me off on the NHL 09 version for PS2 and make it like NHL 08 For The 360.

I too, love to hate on EA (I stare in disgust every night of my Battlefield collection from post 1942).

But would you all like the reason why us PC players of the NHL franchise have been getting the same graphics engine since 06?

Simple. roughly 70% of us don't own a computer powerful enough to run the game at the same resolution and detail as the PS3 and Xbox360. The current gen engine is all they can give us being sure that everyone who buys it, can run it.

True, EA Sports renditions of games for PCs usually suck. I got Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07 for the PC after playing it at my buddy's house on his Xbox, and it was nothing like the real game. Still pissed off about that one.

NHL EA- 05,06,07,08 = THE SAME GAME.(well 08 is different for 360 and PS3.

whoever the developers are basically just traded players in the off season. Made a millions of discs and marketed it well.

i have both NHL 08 and NHL 2k8 for the 360, i loved 08 until it started gettin really fake online, like the fakest goals ive ever seen its ridculous, so i got 2k8 which i think doesnt have better graphics but the goals arent fake and the look much better and less generic than 08.

EA has been screwing the PC version of NHL for a while. I remember back when the PC version was the version that was the best... NHL 99-NHL 2002... then it was just horrible. I got NHL 08 for 360 just cause I knew the PC version was gonna be the PS2 version. I can only hope that NHL 09 will be the 360 version on PC though I feel they'll rip the PC off again.

I have NHL 08 and NHL 2k8 for XBOX 360. My problem with NHl 08 is that it's either too easy or too hard. There's no point in the middle. With one difficulty setting, you'll be winning 7-0, then on the next setting you're getting beat 5-1. I don't get it. I won the Stanley Cuip on Pro, then I switched to All Star and I go up against the smartest AI in the history of hockey games. I don't know. I like NHL 2k8 more because I've reached a comfort level to where it's either win or lose.

I agree, NHL 08 for PC is NHL 02 packaged a 7th time. It is BRUTAL. Like, 07 was supposed to be next gen, but they screwed PC users over. Then 08 was supposed to be next gen, and they screwed us ove ragain. Pisses me off :( .

ea sports definetly rushed to make nhl 08 and it did not pay off.. i have nhl 08 for the ps3 and the online mode is a mess.. and some players on the ice, in any mode, are scrambled for the home game. By scrambled i mean that there legs stick straight out and there head is under there left leg etc etc.. its just a mess.. i can only hope that they take a little more time on nhl 09

NHL 2005 was the last time all the versions were created equal. Ever since then, they've just recycled everything for the PS2 and PC. I can kinda understand that for the PS2, but a powerful PC can be BETTER than the XBOX 360, so why not put a little goddamn effort into the game?

Yeah the console versions of NHL 08 are better, but there is one thing you have that we don't... JIM HUGHSON! His commentary edits don't sound as smooth as Thorne and Clement on the consoles, but I'm sure EA was cheap about it. I can't imagine how good Hughson would sound on consoles.

haha, i actually own nhl 08 for Ps3, its the same as Xbox version, but i actually had a problem with it for another console: not available on the wii! the controls for fifa 08were a major bitch on this console so thank goodness nhl 08 wasn't on wii cause later i would get both for ps3.
