@scr3wdestiny I wasn't bothered by your voice. no need to apologize for that. I don't know why, but the "uhm" in every sentence started to bug me. I did switch to another video of installing webos 2 on sprint pre minus, but then i switched back to yours because the other ones were not as informative.
So again... thank you for doing this. I will most likely donate to PC because of you. My comment was only a suggestion for if (and hopefully) you make more videos in the future.
@johnnya590 These are not professional videos that I mapped out word for word and read from a flipping card. I did them as a favor to P|C, a pretty big one since I have a strong preference not to be recorded. I apologized for my voice in advanced. If it bothered you so you felt the need to comment on it, you didn't really have to keep watching.
Thank you for the Ubuntu tip on navigating to different directories, I never would have gotten past that step. I have dedicated 4 nights of learning ubuntu/linux and navigating multiple forums/google searches, only asked one question (to you), and have successfully downloaded webos 2.1.0. Definitely couldn't have done it without this video walkthru. Thanks for posting!!
Hi, I'm having some issues during step 5 as I'm using cygwin instead of linux. I guess the problem is regarding the paths/extensions but then again I'm not sure about it. Apart from that, I can confirm webOS 2.0.1 is running fine on my telcel pre- so if anyone else here is from Mexico and having issues, feel free to contact me (I'm looking at you MiguelBermudez83 =).
@bubka Haha, I'm actually getting my device how I like it with patches and app placement, once I finish I'll post a little demo video so you can see it runs on my device.
@ttk1opc Yep, the device starts download apps right away, but you can change the palm-build-info during that process, sorry if that was a little unclear. However, some apps have 2.0 capabilities that won't show up if they think you're running 1.4.5, so you do have to change it and reboot before using them if you want their 2.0 abilities to work.
@NpManny Sorry, I don't think Sprint Navigation is able to work with 2.0 right now. I had installed it, but I hadn't tried to open it yet when I made the video, so I thought it went okay and what not since it showed up. :(
Amazing videos, worked perfectly for me. Thanks for all your time!

Thank you for these videos. My pre minus is flashing now as I type. 1 minor suggestion. PLEASE stop saying "Uhm" and "So yeah so" so much!
Thanks :)

I used the method found at webosbuzz. I used Cygwin and it was really really easy. I didn't need to install Ubuntu and Virtualbox.

cant installit on Telcel GSM... with the script ..
MiguelBermudez83 1 year ago
@MiguelBermudez83 Hey I think Rod fixed the Telcel script, so if you got to your meta-doctor folder in the terminal and write:
git pull
You should get the newest version to try.
