I remember seeing this video at the old Mr. Movies in Plymouth, MN on 101 & 6. The tagline on the tape was something like 'Don't rent this tape, then I care." His car dealer commercials were so top notch. Suplex, powerslam, and piledriver on hood. Classic.
@steviemacful NNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, RRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLY?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! Becayse, you, you're the first person to ever, EVER bring that up! Wow! He's not the only one to pay homage to Brody, so, you know, like, just think about it.
@steviemacful Actually, he copied Brody out of respect and admiration. he and Brody were very friendly and he was honored a fellow wrestler would want to be like him in many ways. I can't remember the name, but if you look up old interviews with Brody he says that and actually chuckled which was funny to see, as he never smiled unless he was causing an opponent pain. lol
I recall this was a short film John Nord made in the late 80s before he went into AWA. He was still working indies at this stage. He also worked in his family's car yard at the time.
Not sure what he's doing nowadays, but I'd be surprised if he's homeless. He seemed like one of the sensible ones who got out of the business at the right time following his brief run in the WWF.
This is very interesting. What's the deal with Cocoa and Fruity Pebbles cereal? That's what he eats for breakfast and the cereal he gets at the meat market. I find that a little too coincidental. Vern must have made a deal with the Pebble people to feature their product prominently in this premier production.
One of my most favorite wrestlers, but this is an oddity. What's funny about this is that he went to work in a car lot (this one?) after getting out of wrestling. I wonder if this is on eBay?
When I was younger (because I didn't see them fight each other until I was older), I thought Duggan and Berzerker were the same guy. Because at the time, I never saw them in the ring at the same time.
My Mom bought this video for me when I was 5 in 1989. I lost the tape a few years later. I was at the store today buying some food and thought of this video. I just want to thank whoever put this on for bringing me back to a good time in my life! :)
I always wondered where I could get a copy of this. That's my son as the expert. This was written and taped like an Ed Wood project. Maybe 72 hours from when Nord asked me to write it to the video store shelves. Not a lie!
Dude. This is the greatest thing I have ever seen in my life. My friends and I are obsessed with the Berzerker, and we're from Duluth. So this kind of ties it all together. thank you.
You got that right, it has Wrestlecrap written all over it. For years I've had this video laying in my computer and I've always wondered if the AWA was behind this movie since there's a ring with the AWA logo. There's no mention of this video's existence on the net. I'm hoping there's somebody out there who has some information about this movie. Thanks.
I didn't watch it all because I'm on dial up but it looked absolutely glorious like only wrestlecrap can be. I now want to see the rest of this as bad as I want to see the entire Road Warriors in outerspace movie.
Good work unearthing this little gem! I've never had the fortune of seeing John "Terry " Nord in any other incarnation besides "Berzerker". Shame they don't put the same kind of passion into wrestling promos anymore.
"He disproved Einstein's Theory of Relativity. They had to shut down the entire science wing!" Pure Gold!

holy ship!
.
The berzerker was badazz but in the end I guess maybe a bit too light hearted.comical.
.
He could of done more in pro wressling but his shoot personality wasn't too far off of his character and promoters couldn't handle him.
