It would be nice if there was a hard science retcon of the original series one day. Maybe CGI could be used to reimagine all of the alien races to be non-anthropomorphic. Perhaps a rational pretense for why the Vinge Singularity never occurred and why there is such limited nanotechnology. It shouldn't be too hard with the technology available now.
You know, for an "aging actor," he looks terrific. A little age looks good on him. His dialogue is so far above the bubbly lad and lass conducting the interview, (no offense to fans of this talk show) it goes clear over their heads. Well done, Mr. Spiner! You make me proud to be a Trekkie :)

@dwaynedibbly I understand what you mean, but if we're honest with ourselves, he's had a LOT of patience over the years. The two worst things that can happen to an actor are 1) Never being noticed 2) Being noticed too much for one character. Brent Spiner somehow got both. He's never been noticed or known well by anyone else than Trekkies and a select number of filmmakers. And the only thing he's really KNOWN for is one character. He probably wants people to realize him for the great actor he is!
I am blown away at the complete ineptitude and level of pure disrespect these hosts have displayed towards such a professional, couth actor, Brent Spiner. The is interview is almost painful to watch, these are the some the worst interviewers i've ever seen, Spiner is great, but those hosts are just idiots, really did they do any research at all into Star Trek, or maybe other aspects of Brent Spiner's career. If I was to interview someone on national television, I think i'd do some research, especially if I wasn't familiar with them or the career their involved with, and I'm pretty sure these hosts have never see an episode of Star Trek.
@sweiland75 You have to admit though they have not hit it as well since Picard and Data. I guess the world agrees which is why non of the other series got movie deals. Voyager was excellent, Deep Space 9 was a soap opera set in space and the boldly went nowhere as it was a static space station. The less said about Enterpise and especially the choice of captain the better - how that made it to 4 seasons allah alone knows.
Brent is a lovely chap, bloody good actor and a terrific singer. It would be a shame not to see him as Data again. I liked the last movie but we need a quality tv series back with Next Gen/DS9/Voyager characters in it. By the way I agree the presenters here were atrocious...kept butting in etc but Brent, being a pro, overcame it well.
Two bit player's, with no love lost. These presenter's are just corporate fly bye night's. Star Trek will live in the century's to come, and let's hope that future generation's of fan's will look at these presenter lowlife's for what they are...I.E.Egotistical wannabee's...

Thank you, I feel the same way but it seems like few others do. The new Star Trek was just a bunch of pretty actors running around on a stage with lots of special effects; that's not Star Trek. Star Trek has always been the exact opposite of that. It really wasn't even a Star Trek movie, they could have just changed the names and it would have been its own film and would have been unrecognizable as a Star Trek film.

@dwaynedibbly I understand what you mean, but if we're honest with ourselves, he's had a LOT of patience over the years. The two worst things that can happen to an actor are 1) Never being noticed 2) Being noticed too much for one character. Brent Spiner somehow got both. He's never been noticed or known well by anyone else than Trekkies and a select number of filmmakers. And the only thing he's really KNOWN for is one character. He probably wants people to realize him for the great actor he is!

I am blown away at the complete ineptitude and level of pure disrespect these hosts have displayed towards such a professional, couth actor, Brent Spiner. He handles himself and their assinine questions with perfection. Brent proects himself as well as the fans; he should be commended. I sincerely hope the BBC received some negative mail on being so ridiculously rude towards the fans and to Brent.

Yay, get a Brent Spiner interview and then get facts about his main and best known character portrayal wrong, show just as much TOS footage as you do footage of TNG, try and bait him into insulting trekkies when they love him and he loves them because they provide his meal ticket and idolize him and insult American schooling by insinuating American kids are learning more science from star trek.

The is interview is almost painful to watch, these are the some the worst interviewers i've ever seen, Spiner is great, but those hosts are just idiots, really did they do any research at all into Star Trek, or maybe other aspects of Brent Spiner's career. If I was to interview someone on national television, I think i'd do some research, especially if I wasn't familiar with them or the career their involved with, and I'm pretty sure these hosts have never see an episode of Star Trek.

@sweiland75 You have to admit though they have not hit it as well since Picard and Data. I guess the world agrees which is why non of the other series got movie deals. Voyager was excellent, Deep Space 9 was a soap opera set in space and the boldly went nowhere as it was a static space station. The less said about Enterpise and especially the choice of captain the better - how that made it to 4 seasons allah alone knows.

Brent is a lovely chap, bloody good actor and a terrific singer. It would be a shame not to see him as Data again. I liked the last movie but we need a quality tv series back with Next Gen/DS9/Voyager characters in it. By the way I agree the presenters here were atrocious...kept butting in etc but Brent, being a pro, overcame it well.

Thank you, I feel the same way but it seems like few others do. The new Star Trek was just a bunch of pretty actors running around on a stage with lots of special effects; that's not Star Trek. Star Trek has always been the exact opposite of that. It really wasn't even a Star Trek movie, they could have just changed the names and it would have been its own film and would have been unrecognizable as a Star Trek film.
