I love it, i was already doing my own cameo molds but it was so difficult to peel, but the powder trick is awesome thank you :D, btw adorable mini album i love i how youu match the colours and textures in it :)
Thanks for the tutorial! Sculpey has a great product called "Mold Maker" that makes a flexible mold. I really like it for making molds. I press the clay in and then pop it in the freezer for a few minutes before removing it. This keep the clay from distorting when you take it out.
OMG ...TFS.... I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR CAMEOS LIKE A MAD WOMEN, AND CAN'T FIND THEM ANY WHERE ...GOOD THING I HAVE BEEN HOARDING ONE VERY PRETTY ONE ...SO I WILL BE MAKING MY OWN NOW...... LOL .....HUGS... MIMI
hi please help me youre work is amazing. to actualy make the template mould what do i need is it molding putty as i found polymer clay but is the polymer clay for the actual thing im making or to make the template mould mmm hope im makeing scence. as i noticed your mold was like rubber stuff
*whew* finally a tutorial for polymer clay that wasn't either totally uninformative or made by a twelve year old that makes me feel like a dork because I'm making stuff little kids wear. LOL. Thank you! I've been hunting all over for a mold/cameo/polymer clay tutorial! This had it all!
hi how do u get the cameos bicolored like they r , like white pic and green background?????? I have made polymer clay molds for pmc silver clay, my email is dviner@yahoo.com thx , deb
very nice and well explained. it is nice to hear someone in Canada complaining like I do about Micheals not carrying here what they carry in the States. Merry Christmas.
You may have rambled on, as you say, but I love it, because you gave a wealth of great information. Thanks so much for sharing, and you're easy to listen to.
Nice video! I thought I'd let you know that EasyCast Clear Casting epoxy is an odor free resin that is very easy to use and does not stink up your house. The dyes you have will work with it too.
Hey Sandi, after hunting everywhere for the clay I've finally found some only to be told they've sold out so I have to wait a few more weeks for them to restock. But Im so happy I have. Cant wait to play. Thanks again girl you really have started a bug lol.
I really liked the looks of the stamping kit you showed could you give me the name of it so I can try and find it ...I would love to purchase it soon thank you
@gelfling55 Sure =) it came in a box that i had throw out, but I searched the web and managed to find it. It's called - Walnut Hollow Clay Embossing Set, and I will put a link to the one i found on Amazon in the description above =)
@Greyhounder200 I bake mine in a full sized regular over, but some people do buy a toaster over JUST for baking polymer clay in. As for the rub n buff.....I buy mine from Ebay and she is actually a Canadian seller. The prices are cheap and the items where great, I bought from her twice. I put a link in the description area (top link) of where you can find the rub n buff =)
how do you make the molds out of polymer clay? do you like... roll out about an inch thick and dust the object with baby powder and push it into the clay? and then pull it out and bake it?
@jewelloveit Yep that's exactly it =) I usually brush the clay with powder too, just to be double safe because I am a klutz, lol. For a mold depending on how big it is, I would bake at 250 for about an hour since they are usually slightly thicker =)
@LittleMissStamper :] alright! thanks so much! cant wait to try this with the things i have xD although, i can never find any cameo frames (thats why i pm'ed you lol)
Subed to you as I found you are so generous with your information. Watched 3 tonight and I love your information. Hope to see more soon. Thanks a bunch.
There's also a liquid rubber that you just paint layers right onto the object to make a mold--also smelly, but maybe not as bad as the one you described? My DIL and I have then used the rubber mold to pour our own plaster of paris molds that we used with handmade paper. Never tried using the liquid rubber to see if you could make a mold like those silicone molds...humm...might be worth a try. Too bad we're out right now. You've given me another future project to try. :)
Thanks so much for this tut! I only have one question... when making a cameo, how do you get the lady on the cameo white?? and the background another color? do you paint it? I am going to try the clay.. I have been using UTee. which, works very well. But I want to try the cameo.. Thanks so much!! I love your vids!! xo Tori
@punkynpunkin I paint the whole thing with acrylic paint first, then I use white rub n buff to rub over the raised area of the lady's face so that only she turns white and not the background =)
Thank you for the tips, I've been wanting to make some Cameos But I wasn't sure how to make my own molds. I was just going to Buy some from Etsy, But I love the idea of making my own since I have FIndings and Whatnot I want to duplicate! Thanks! I'm in Canada too and I usually shop at De serres for art supplies, I'll have to check to see if that have the Mold putty!
I have been wanting to make my own cameo's Thanks so much for the tutorial. Where did you get the oval piece that you put your cameos in , you made with your silicone mold. Like on your album.sorry don't know the name of it. I love it! So cute. TFS

Where did you purchase the cameos that you used for the molds? How did you color them when you made them using the molds?

Thank you so much for sharing!!!!!! There is not much information out there on making cameos.
After I saw your video I went on Ebay and bought some fairy cameo molds.
I hope they come out as beautiful as yours.

Thanks, those so cool. I love charms, but they are so expensive. Now I can try to make my own :)
Crayola also makes a nice air drying compound (Model Magic) that I am told is acid free, I have used it in push molds, and it dries feather light.
