...Lands are simply permenants and are considered a completly diffent type of permanent than any other cards...they Have no color, becouse they are not spells...hence if it is not a spell, it is not colored. you cannot counter a land being played...which is why well built land decks are so amazing in tournament, and prolly why mutavault is worth the ungodly price tag.

Once Mutavault leaves Standard, it won't be played in Extended most likely as heavily, and in anything older theres Mishra's Factory. The only reason its so expensive is that every deck that doesn't play vivid pool mana bases plays vaults
