I thought Mr. Cain was a proponent of the FAIR tax system, whereby all income taxes are abolished in favor of spending-based taxes. Why is he mimicking other Republicans in asking for a lowering of the corporate tax rate to 25%? Shouldn't he be asking for a complete overhaul of the tax system?
@Somac2006 Yes it would, but again, lowering the corporate tax rate would start the trend. Say Herman is elected. When he takes office an GOP passes Fair Tax, it wouldn't take effect until the following calendar year, but Corporate Tax rate could be lowered to start economic boom while we wait. Lower Corporate Tax Rate would be in addition to, not in place of, the Fair Tax!
