I'm 57, so Bobby's music was just a bit before I became musically aware (a child of the British Invasion...still am), but if this video was shot in 2009....this guy is phenomenol. I only heard "The Cha Cha Cha" as an adult just the other day, and it knocked me out. Bobby's still got it, no doubt. A polished performer still doin' his thing all these years later and still sounding and looking good is a gift from above indeed. I wish this guy the very best. You still got it. joel in tucson
There is really no words to explain what a GREAT Singer, Mr Rydell was/is, his voice is still fantastic and he still gives 100 plus when he performs, he still brings back the old days when music was music, and singers were singers, keep up the good work Mr Bobby Rydell.
@MrTolentine He does a lot of touring and performing. He actually performed around the corner from my house at the Italian festival last summer. When I was 10 years old and crazy about him, I never dreamed that some day I'd walk out my front door, walk a block for about 1 1/2 minutes and watch him perform and go home and have sweet dreams. And his voice and performance is as good as ever.
Glad you got to see him! I saw him at a Rock and Roll show in New York many years ago. Loved those shows. You'd get to see about 10 top acts in one show. . The good old days! I believe Murray the K was the emcee! 1010 WINS N.Y was his radio station.
Here is a class act, who has enough respect for his music that he keeps himself sounding and looking great. Many of the artists of that area sound awful. Not this guy !! Thanks for posting
How did Bob come through the throat operation he was going to have back in the 80's? I saw him and Avalon in A.C. There was a buffet before the show and Frankie came to it but Bobby stayed away, because of his throat. He did a GREAT show, but was supposed to have this operation and limited his proforming.
Robert Ridarelli - AKA Bobby Rydell. By far the BEST of the Philly 50's/60's clan. If he would have started performing in the 40's, he would have been as big as Frank. I think Bobby could have used a better manager back then, because he was and IS phenominal. Sounds just as good in 2009 as he did in 1961.
@MrAjlombardo Because he NEVER did or does use that Bullshit Autotune. And this music is real and handmade. Not from computers that make it sound like freaking robot sounds... This right here is a true classic!
wow he still sounds great

There's a Facebook Fan Page devoted to Cameo/Parkway and features Bobby Rydell often (even this clip is on it).

The original Cameo single of Wildwood Days is absolutely superb, and this live rendition more than does the original justice. Love it!

Love this video. He sounds better there than he does on the original record. Can't say that about too many performers.

@MrAjlombardo : Bobby has actually
performed many great Sinatra hits in
concert and I prefer Bobby. Also consider
comparing with Dean Martin; two songs
Sway and Volare. Sway, both did a
great job. Volare: Bobby blows Dean away. Underrated, needs a great producer
to showcase his talents much like recently happened with Harry Connick,Jr.
I believe Bobby might be persuaded to
record again given the right opportunity.

@MrAjlombardo My mother used to always say that Bobby Rydell had the real talent but that Frankie got all the accalades.
