WOW, you are all really ignorant! My boyfriend is a member of CSH and it's really awesome. I haven't been there to visit yet, but I'm going soon and can't wait. The reason they wouldn't just put money in the machine is because their system takes meal credits that they have to spend before the quarter ends, and this is a good way for them to spend the extra credits at the end of a quarter. They're not bored, they have to do projects in order to stay as a member of CSH! Stop stereotyping them

I found a easier and faster way to open locks and doors by using superbumpkeys. I got some online for 2 bucks at superbumpkeys. Com and they are so easy to use.

Some RIT students recently hacked a giant LED billboard on side of 490 and had it play porn. I guess it took them (whoever they are), twenty minutes to turn off the billboard.

Having lived nearby in those dorms during my own days at RIT, I've gotta say it's pretty darned cool to be able to use your food credits to pay for a soda when you need it...like during finals! C'mon, need caffeine man.

Plus, did you miss the part where you can log in and drop a soda from anywhere in the world? Pretty darned cool.

I designed the embedded hardware for the 1995 incarnation of the machine, and to this day I still have no idea how it managed to work. See, I didn't know about things like power supply bypassing or keeping large switching transients away from your microcontroller at the time. Everything was on one board...68HC11, drop relays, 120V power, etc. It managed to make it out to Los Angeles for SIGGRAPH and back, and "pretty much" worked the whole time. Glad to see CSH still has a working Drink.

A bunch of the machines screwed up in 2001 during my first year. It seemed as though there was a requirement of having about $1-2 flex on your card and less than a dollar in debit. The machine would accept the card, give you whatever you wanted, and didn't charge you for it. Worked in the art buildings on the snack and ice cream machines, but not the soda machines. Not sure if it still works like that though.
