The problem with lorries jack knifing is the fact the minimum tread depth on drive axles is only 1mm, it needs to be at least 3mm.It also doesnt help when car drivers drive at 10mph in the snow and stop everytime theres snow. I went to school, attending university now, and have the utmost respect for truck drivers. They drive long distances, they drive massive trucks, they have to put up with people who don't drive those trucks and don't understand how a truckdriver needs to respond to situations and some of them might have carried your cargo so you can live your life with your "proper" job. If you look there is a growing trend towards rail transport due to efficiencies of scale and the cost of fuel. Basic economics will show you that the easiest cost to reduce in the transport industry is labour as companies have no control over oil prices and large price setting customers such as Tesco. The sooner its all on a train the better for the country.

The volume that we sell needs to go by train so we go to the train yard in Digbeth. 40 tonnes on a truck is less than one minutes production on a modern production line. f it went on a truck there would be a tail back all the way to the dock.
i got stuck in that because of them fook truck blocking the road i drive a 4x4 with chains on it so why do you not have them too
