  • what is your native language?

  • @arshia2008 English

  • Thanks for taking time out of your day and sharing your story. It was extremely interesting.

  • @MagicMaximo Thanks for the comment! I'm glad you found it interesing.

  • awesome! you're inspirational. I'm a native English speaker... recently learned Castellano from Buenos Aires that I'm now conversational with..trying to really become an expert with it, eventually.. but I'm also playing with Italiano... However, I can't help but wondering if learning Italiano now will impede me from really reaching fluency with Castellano. Any advice?

  • @Mindpetals Thank you!

As for Castellano and Italiano...even I have trouble keeping them separate. My advice would be to focus on either one or the other, perhaps changing focus every two weeks. (In other words: do two weeks of "puro espanol", than two of "puro italiano", then back to espanol...) But you need to play around with this, and see if it works for you.

  • Your story is impressive. That curiosity as a child upon hearing a foreign language is just marvelous isn't it? Even as an adult I still get fascinated when I hear people converse in foreign tongues.

  • @ihcahieh I also still get fascinated! Unfortunately many people out there can't understand this.

  • you have learn all the romance languages? have you learned Romanian? that would be interesting. I am interested in that language. you should make a video in Romanian.

  • @Codylangaugesblog My Romanian is not so hot...I only did the Pimsleur course during a Christmas vacation a few years back. I think I should read TEACH YOURSELF HUNGARIAN and see what comes out of it.

  • @alkantre I would really like to see a video in Hungarian, that would be very interesting!! tell me what Hungarian is like!! that is a language I would like to explore someday.

  • what about bahasa indonesia? Did you learn lebanese arabic?

  • Thanks very much for your story!

I study philosophy and was interested also to hear you mention that you teach it. What areas do you specialize in or enjoy the most?

  • @qzchris What I do with philosophy is pretty basic...I usually just talk a bit about philosophers that have to do with the literature being presented...for instance, Averoes an Ramon Lull for the medieval period...Voltaire, Montesquieu and others for the 18th Century...Schopenhauer and Nietzsche for the Spanish generation of 98...I'm basically just a generalist

  • Very interesting and inspiring story.

  • Thank you very much Mr. Browne, this was very inspiring.
