Island Cow, Hungray Heron, and the Lazy Flamingo are priced well and have good food. The best place we ate at was Bahama Breeze in Ft. Myers. I thoroughly enjoyed my week off work and walking on the beech with my family. That was the best part of the trip. We went on a small fishing trip. The captain dropped the ladies off on a remote island to do some shelling while we fished. On the way back to the dock we ran across a couple pods of dophins which jumped in the wake of the boat - awesome time!

In the mid 70's, there was still a lot of farming going on...one of my favorite places.....

It sure looks different now, but still very beautiful and peaceful....I tried to get my husband to buy a place on the beach for 33,000.00...Its probably several million now

Sanibel is awesome. I'm going in October for my aunts wedding and my grandma is moving there! It has so much wildlife too! My mom saw a bobcat and it's babies and right off our beach we saw a bunch of manatees playing! I even caught a shark at night right off the beach we swim in!! Sanibel is definetly a must!!!

when I use to go once a year(about 5 or 6 years ago and before) my family and I would stay at the bailey's beach house. they are one of my families good friends. anyways, I am kinda bummed out after seeing this video because its SO different now. when I use to go the only thing they had on the island was maybe 20 houses, one or two condos and a few shops. its so touristy now. I might not ever go again.

I luv sanibel im going there in two weeks!! Gramma dots has really good food. The bubble room was really awesome a few years ago they used give you HUGE plates of food but they are under new ownership and last time a went i saw a roach the size of my hand . I looove sanibel island.

i love sanibel but the toll to get across the bridge is like 7 dollars and i just moved to tennessee which really sucks cause i loved fort myers but not fort myers and sanibels weather is great but not during hurrican season and my favorite beach on sanibel is bowmans beach but parking is expensive lol eveything there is expensive XD

The best month to go is October. There is not a lot of traffic. Come visit our new historic village. A trip to the bakery at Bailey's grocery store is a must. For a simple inexpensive meal, eat lunch at Jerry's supermarket at Periwinkle and Case Ybel. Also check out the Beachview Steak House in a golf community off Middle Gulf Dr. Not to be missed is a burger at Che Burger Che Burger on Periwinkle at The Tahitian Shopping Center. The Farmer's market is here on Sunday mornings too.

Im a teen and I love it. My family has been going for about 5 years so far and we all love it. We rnt bikes, tennis rackets, boogie boards, skim boards, and more. Granted I have a brother who I can hang out with, it is still very fun. Island Cow and the Bubble Room (on Captivia i think) are the best.

Love Sanibel, BUT just try driving on Periwinkle Way, SOB. Even in Ding traffic is bad, but not as bad as Periwinkle!

Was there with my family visiting friends over July 4th. The highlight of our week long trip was Sanibel Island, the shelling, swimming with the dolphins, saw my first Bald Eagle on the lighthouse. It was a trip My family and I will never forget.

I have been to sanibel too many times to count, and I recomend the following:

~Island Cow restaurant

~Sanibel Thriller (its a boat ride that goes rly fast but you see alot of dolphins up close!)

~Blind Pass beach for boogie boarding

~She Sells Sea Shells the store for some intresting souviners

~Biking around the island

~Ding Darling!

Dont use the excuse Florida is way too hot, just try it!
