  • It's creep as hell, but at the same time I feel it's so close to reality but no one can see that, not for a second

  • What first creeped the living bejesus out of me is now the very same thing I revere and hold the utmost respect for......huh.

  • I haven't finished it yet, but I just had to come listen to this song. I love it. It reminds me of 999 if anyone has played that. I really think horror/mystery (or any of the like genres) have the best music.

  • @MeisterRoxas YES

the song that plays at the bad endings in 999 is great! the sequel was released in japan today. i can't read japanese so all i can do is wait for somebody to upload the soundtrack :)

  • @Aikan009Kurenai I wouldn't say that's a bad thing. She didn't really kill humans, she elated us into a completely different state of nearly divine existence, if anything we should be thankful.

  • @arkadekon9 Well, if turning mankind into spagetti monsters is what you count as "elating to a state of nearly divine existence", sure. I'm not sure about divinity, but she basically overwrote mankind's humanity. It was a hostile takeover, regardless of intentions.

I still don't look at her as some alien invader. Her love was utterly pure. Even when dying a horrible, painful death, the only thing on her mind is showing her affection and love towards Fuminori. Her feelings were real.

  • Eu adoro essa música!

  • What are the lyrics? Is she saying "No" or "Love"

  • @BeatlessShooter it's probably just "la"

  • This game is a fuck up combination of beauty and the beast and silent hill.

  • Loved this game. Only thing I didn't like was the (IMO) excessive amount of H-scenes. Otherwise, it completely immersed me. Started playing at 11:00PM and finished at 4AM. Amazing game.

  • @Oveneise oh yes to many H-scenes xDDi was reading it and my boyfriend was too... whe were both like "WTF why so sudden? xDDD" didn't know there was so many h-scence in this VN

  • Am I the only one who noticed that all songs in the SnU OST start with an S?

  • @NathanRommi yeah was kinda unfortunate finished all 3 story lines in 1 night. was still good though

  • I don't care for Visual Novels, but I came across this song somehow and I am in love with it,

  • I used to think this song was incredibly interesting and pretty, nothing more. Now, after watching Song of Saya myself, I feel increasingly nauseous every time I hear this song. This song is perfect for its name, that's for sure.

  • I just watched all of Song of Saya for the first time a few days ago. This song...this terribly unnerving, chilling song never leaves my mind. I've been getting increasingly paranoid. Insane thoughts take over whenever I hear it, and it depresses me to no end. Women are starting to seem disgusting, and yet more beautiful than ever. I want a relationship, and at the same I would detest it. Congratulations, Song of Saya. You've broken another man.

  • @Noctis2525 @ElouiseEvans It's amazing what effects just this song can have on people after reading the story, I don't know what it is about saya no uta but It's extremely life changing and completely flips your point of view on earth. It's crazy what one japanese story can do to a person's mind.

  • I'd imagine this was all that Yoh could hear after a certain point. Explains the dislike. >.>

  • Saya....Innocent and evil. Beautiful and grotesque.

    You've bewitched us all.

  • Something about this song is so freaking creepy...

  • IIRC, this song played when Saya was introduced.

This song made that scene pretty chilling, especially how she was introduced, as an innocent girl...

  • @Churroization

Yeah, and that feel that something is terribly wrong....

  • As soon as you hear this song for the first time, you think, "This is gonna be good."

  • This track is wrong on so many levels....

  • "Shinji, come in for a second. Have a seat.

You've been a writer at our game company for how long now? I've got a new assignment for you.

I need you to write a story to make the player feel sorry for a horrible Cthulhu demon who ruins your like then kills and devours all your friends.

Hey! Where are you going? Come back!"

  • @dorpth Shinji: Challenge Accepted...

  • @dorpth I didn't really feel all that sorry...I was angry and very hurt...his poor friends, and even Fuminori giving up on everything...love is fine and all, but this was just scary...That, and the fact that what he was seeing wasn't reality to begin with...That someone can be deceived and give in to misery and just accept lies like that....I'm disturbed...the soundtrack though, very beautiful. And...poor, poor Yo.. =<

  • @Aikan009Kurenai What is reality? Is it what people claim to see? Is Saya no better than a monster because of her form? You say Fuminori saw lies? If we go with the game, what Fuminori saw could be called the Truth. The raw, exposed Truth. Saya's and Fuminori's love was absolute, and they would burn the world for it's sake. The others are simply unfortunate that it had to come to that. ...Felt like saying that. Haha.

  • @HitodamaKyrie The truth was that Saya was a monstrosity. Though she cared for Fuminori, she cared for no one else. That, to me, is a destructive love. Especially when it comes at the cost of the lives of everyone else. I'm going with a real world application here, not a fantasy or romantic drama. The unfortunate thing is that Fuminori was in a horrible accident, lost his family, and became so vulnerable and hateful, and everyone else paid the price for it. That's just how I feel.

  • @dorpth How can someone who has played this game say something terrible like that?

  • One of the top 10 on my list of most beautiful eroge's to date. this touching song fits the game so well, Touching, sorrowful, mysterious, and most of all lovely.

Definitely a must read for anyone who has yet to.

  • @NickNippa what is it about????

  • @lovedivasong The easiest way to describe it is a romance.

but tbh i can't think of a synopsis your best bet would be to read about it for yourself.

    erogedownload(dot)com/downloads/saya-no-uta/

  • @NickNippa

I can't believe you told him it's a romance novel....

  • @NathanRomml But it is if you think about it a certain way! :D lol

  • @Twardz

    I know

    but still

I wonder if this guy expect some nice romantic cutey stuff like clannad

    and then......

  • @NathanRomml Well then, he'll be going through it the same way Fuminori did! So much despair and disgust until Saya shows up!

  • @Twardz

    uh-uh

and then he learns what Saya is

  • @NathanRomml That's--- where the true test of mental strength comes into play!

  • @NathanRomml

Since i don't want to drop any spoilers i'll just say this, if you think it's not, you obviously havn't read it since that was the basis for why the ending took so long to happen, Especially if you get the alternate endings over the true ending.

  • @NickNippa

ugh...I did play it and I don't know what are you talking about

it was pretty short, in fact

  • @NathanRomml

    It is, though.

  • We need more of these intense stories, truly breathtaking and moving

  • Who would expect the only "human" left for him would be a such a lovely monster? :/

  • This song makes me cry just listening to it. There's no better story in the world than this. Truly melancholy, it's a masterpiece.

  • one person whants to sing like that

  • What if...

What if there was something so horrible, that just looking at it broke you?

  • @KMxHearts that would be freaky

  • Beautiful and scary at the same time...this kinda creeps me out o_o

  • This song is practically a depressant drug. I havent played the game myself, but just watching the walkthrough is extremely dark and sad...I get such a calm, yet bleak and sad feeling when I listen to this haunting tune.

  • >Game

  • @zeroman186 Oh wait, I was talking about the OST, not the game. Game is still there.

  • @zeroman186 That one is dead. I tried to get it and the seeder stopped it mid-download...

  • I hate this song and love it, when it comes on in my music playlist I both dread hearing it and love hearing it, it's so melancholy and evil sounding yet it's wonderful and inspiring.

  • This song is so eerie but I love it!

  • I read "xDragonInstallx" 's uploads of this, but where could I find this VN? I googled it, I've yahoo'd it, but there is no online thing. :/

I'm into this kind of gore-ish stuff, haha.

  • SCARY FUCKING SOUNDTRACK.

    AWESOME FUCKING GAME

  • I've yet to play the visual novel but the soundtrack sounds really top notch judging by this track

  • @CrazyClumsyChickaa

The main character is in a car accident and needs an experimental procedure to save his life. When he wakes up, he has agnosia meaning his perception of everything is wildly distorted. To him, every smells, sounds, looks, tastes and feels disgusting. He's essentially in a living hell. When he's about to commit suicide, he meets a girl that doesn't trigger the agnosia and she becomes his lifeline so to speak. Except..she does trigger it and she isn't what she appears to be.

  • Reminds me of Dahlia's theme from Phoenix Wright. They both sound calm but hide a terrible secret.

  • Where do i find the visual novel to read it?

  • Even hearing it gives me that eerie, addicted feeling....

  • Eldritch abominations have never looked so hot.

  • well at least for me the "good ending" was the one when saya dies and spreads her seeds, cause i mean thanks to that fuminori was able to see the world as he did in the past, and now with a new person to love, his daughter

  • This song brings the text of the game to life. Its melody clings on to every letter of every word. I loved pressing enter to progress the text at exactly the same time she says, "lum" after the pause.

  • Y'know, after reading about all of the possible endings, I'd have to say that the third one was my favorite simply because it was the best outcome for Saya.

  • 2nd ending was the best. Shotguns FTW.

  • @07aku41if3 Ryoko had the Holy Mother of all Rapefaces in that ending.

  • I really disliked all of the endings.... Other than that, invoking and touching story.

He should have suicided in the "good ending" after Saya dies after giving off her offspring. Such is the fundamental of true love, to never live apart.

  • @ForeverDissevered saya didn't have babies and didn't die.

  • @The20134ever1 Uh...techinaically she did. There are 3 endings so if you palyed the game maybe you got a different ending, but Saya infects the human race that became her and Fuminoris' "babies". She died during the process.

  • @ForeverDissevered Well the creator said its up to the reader if she is dead or not. But I think mostly of this reason.

  • @ForeverDissevered I think if Fuminori committed suicide after Saya spread her seeds, it would turn into a Romeo and Juliet-esque cliche. The reason why I like this story despite how fucked up it is, is that portrays love in an unusual way. You could even go as far as to say that it's a metaphor for how love really is; beautiful and ugly, selfish and unselfish. All at once.

  • I love this song for the fact that it captures the spirit of the story very well, that of a hauntingly beautiful lonely story of depraved love that disregards normal morals and ethics.

  • I'd love to hear a version of this song without the fuzz that starts at 1:28. The first part is incredibly well done.

  • IMO,

this has to be one of the most fitting songs to embody a character EVER

  • this song gives me goosebumps

  • @lithisthebestever ...This.

  • I was so entrenched in the story I never realized just how beautiful the music was.

    Saya - Best Character Ever

Saya no Uta - Best Game Ever (doesn't even need gameplay)

  • Cos It's like a world of pain that you have been thrown into without a point of return, and the pain is slowly vanishing through one single light of salvation.

  • Listening to this immediately after shizophrenia gives you a wonderful wonderful feeling.

  • This song reminds me of In the footsteps of Dante and The nature of a man which were both amazing NWN modules where you team up sometimes with a succubus or a demon and journey through hell.

  • @hihosh1 It was also pretty lovecraftian from what I remember.

  • While Saya No Uta is a love story, that's hardly the main point of the story. It's a japanese visual novel based off the world of Cthulhu Mythos. (three pieces of evidence behind this theory are found in one of the scenes)

The story is primarily a psychological horror story, with the main character being Sakasaki Fuminori (or depending on how you view the story, his friend Kouji)

After a car accident Fuminori sees the world as a horrible, twisted place, all except one person, the girl Saya.

  • Not an Anime, doubt it would be adapted into one. 6 or so years old now and well nitroplus anime adaptions have been far from perfect. I'd rather not see some half assed attempt.

If you haven't read the Visual novel, it's amazingly disturbing.

  • The song, the girl, and the story just amazes me. Its a rare story that can portray life and love in such a way that they seem novel instead of trite and cliche.

  • but it's very beautiful...

  • same here

  • ho wow.

  • This song practically embodies the whole story.

And to no surprise it has the same name as the story.
