Doesn't matter whether the audio was ripped from a CD or recorded off of vinyl. It doesn't even matter if it was saved in a PCM format. Being linked to a video and uploaded onto YouTube means it has been converted to a lossy compression format. At this point, the only appreciable difference is probably that one is louder than the other. Other than that, there is surely some excess noise unique to each file that comes from making copies of anything, but that should be negligible.

If you want to hear 16 year old Shellac stuff today, like At Action Park, check out Cheer-Accident's new record. That song "Blue Cheedle" sounds like it was mutha fuckin' lifted straight off of At Action Park, guitar tone, drum sound and all. And it wasn't even recorded by Steve. He didn't make a dime off it! Of course, they're really super avant-garde douchebags who look down on the 1700s - 1970s sounding symphonic bands that they play with at prog festivals. Überknobs to the max.

So wait, radio is over? Weird, because the public radio assholes must have totally fleeced me on my donation. Double weird, because classical music seems to be coming out of my HD radio. However, it could be very small musicians inside of the box making that sound. Like a flea orchestra. But it's such a rich sound! Or is radio now dead because there is a digital option?
