didn't have near anything kids have today when I grew up.....computers? hand held?..lap tops?..desk tops....the only thing big screen back then was the one you saw at the movie theatre.....45's and lp's were the only forms of music and lp's were too expensive to own...
I could go on and on but those of you who lived through the period know exactly what we had
@Jibbie49 Before I got my drivers license at age 16 we roamed all over town - walking or often running. In the summer we left the house in the morning, came home for lunch qand home again at 5 pm for dinner. Yes, we were fit and healthy and our town was safe for kids.

How slim everyone was back in 1959 and we thought nothing of it. Fit and healthy. All that dancing and walking and bike riding.
