Since when has war stopped for the Olympiad? Not back then, and sure as hell not now. Back then the best soldiers were also the best athletes, so they went to represent. Now not so much. Anyone who studies and knows history will tell you that is a fairytale.

Games at Olympia lasted for centuries, and many stuff changed. Many of the things mentioned apply for let's say 8-7 cBC but don't apply for 4-3 BC, and vice versa. And the biggest mistake with shows like this is putting it all in the same basket..
love the nude sports, wish they were revived in Greece. At 4:49, the sleepers the guy is wearing are indian, called KOLA-PURI chappals, i dont know if they were part of greece culture too but are still used in india/Pakistan. I have a pair too:D

i dont think society is "afraid" of nudity. some people are, but not most. as a society, it is felt that nudity should be reserved for one's privacy. plus, have you seen the general public lately? id be afraid of nudity, as would you. lol
is the DVD 'Ancient Olympic,let the games begin' from where this is from available anywhere? been looking for it...there is a simlar DVD form the History Channel but its not this one
I think it was aired on Channel 4 as "The Ancient Greek Olympics" in 2004, but never came out in DVD (or VHS). If someone finds a torrent, please, share the info. :-)))
