As much as i liked the old atlanta the new is much better. And it is not another charlotte it is wider, has longer turns and shorter straightaways and is a helluva lot faster. Not to mention it is the home of 3 of the closest finishes in nascar history in spring races in 00, 01, and 05. Its a shame that atlanta lost a race to kansas and now its only date is on southern 500 weekend. Nascar sucks without atlanta, darlington, and rockingham twice a year. RIP winston cup(good) racing

Last race before Atlanta became another Charlotte clone. NASCAR should dump one of the Atlanta dates for a Road Atlanta road course race, as the road course races are the only exiting races in the cuurent COT car era.
