did u dropped it on the floor? I have the same problem with my macbook pro 15' but the apple store wont replace it or repair because I have a small scratch on the left side of the aluminum because i dropped it of the floor once from 40cm high to a carpet floor. the accident happened like more than 2 months ago, and i had no prob. wit the screen until yesterday,but the store store though that i get this problem because I dropped it on the floor. but why i got the problem after 2mnths??

@emceezico No I haven't dropped it. It came with this problem. I only found out at the 12th day. So it has been replaced.

I think this occurs due to a faulty cable. If it can be replaced, display should work again...

@nymphe1410 thx for the info. the store dont want to fix it, but it was a lill scratch on the aluminum . and its not even 1year old. to replace the screen will cost me 1274,57$ .. thats like 50% of the whole macbook pro cost.I was so pissed at the store, but wat can i do, he said that was my own fault and it seems like he was accusing me of lying. I was so pissed I wanted to punch him in the face, but instate I took the mac from him and left.just gotta tell u this cuz i was so pissed :D

i mean seriously great comp so why go ahead and make it worse? i HAD the same thing and one morning it just went away.. idk how? just dont touch it and when opening the laptop make sure u apply the same amount of presure on both sides :D

you can't fix this. This unit has been replaced.

Yes this is a hardware problem indeed. Maybe they will replace your inverter board and screen. Go to the apple service as soon as possible.

it wasn't an angry comment, i was just trying to make a point that is the same thing. the only other places that sell macs one would never go to to have it fixed, for ex, best buy...NEVER buy a protection plan from there, there good for one use and one use only, so go to the "mac" / "apple store"

It was 14th day my girlfriend discovered this. I am in Germany right now, and here you can replace/return the item in 14 days after purchase.

It has been replaced already. And yes, I am happy with it. I wish it had illuminated keyboard, but the price difference was huge.

I've found out this problem at 13th day after purchase and luckily they've replaced it without any question. But it was really annoying. Now I've sent this macbook to my brother, who works in Algeria, so it could be a disaster for him to receive a laptop which is broken.

Apple should sell the 1st gen. notebooks with 3 years warranty.

It's just a graphics card problem, every few of them will probably have that and Apple will have to have a recall.

That's why you ALWAYS wait a couple of months to buy when it comes to Apple products. (that and constant product updates)
