There is one other possible interpretation for the line about the cow, which seems a bit more likely:
"To make a pull for the earthen mugga". Still about making an earthenware mug of milk, this interpretation also refers to pulling on the udder, when milking. And it ties in with the expression, "to pull for something", as in, "I'm pulling for you" or "We're all pulling to win this."
Besides, a cow doesn't show her udder to make a calf. It's just for giving milk, not attracting a mate.
Some of your lyrics are a bit off, but that's cause it's hard to decipher some of them on Ruth's recording.
The right ones are:
"legitimate" (not "legitimite")
"To make a full, frothy, earthen mugga" (i.e., a full, frothy, earthenware mug of MILK). Nothing to do with a bull or mother. This line is wrong in every lyric source I've seen.
"Fluoridation" (not "floridation").
"Alter-kocker" (not "All Dukakas"). It's Yiddish. And wrong in every lyric source I've seen.
I heard this song in a Vegas show and just love it! Where did you find this karaoke version? I can't find it on i-tunes and I've got a burlesque show coming up that I'd love to sing this in. Thanks for the help!!! -Nicki
I always thought it was "To make a bull paw the earth and mutter."
