That sounds like the roots blow 645 version of Soundtraxx's recordings. I didn't think Soundtraxx offer the non-turbo version of the 645 in the Genesis format decoders.

How did you weather your track? I don't have an airbrush so I was considering trying weathering chalks for the ties/ballast on already laid/ballasted track on my layout but have no idea whether it will work or not.

I painted the rails, ties and ballast a dirty brown colour, then drybrushed it with railtie brown, mixed with some white

That's a nice looking CSX unit. They do have the angled air filter box. I just checked a photo of the real 1158.
