Love Lodge cast iron. Own and use skillets daily. Would NEVER buy any cookware made in China.
Purchasing their loaf pans for home made bread. Normally use Chicago Metallic Commercial, but the alluminized steel is only so so for bread. Cast iron is the way to go. I sure hope they never move their cast iron business to China.
Sorry Lodge, I respect your cast iron but the enameled is said to be made in China, I won't buy if it's made in China. Its all about reputation and quality and those two don't mix.
Lodge rocks! After years of trying out different cookware, I'm increasingly going back to cast iron. For quality and price, Lodge tradtional cookware is the best.
I would admire them a great deal more, even if their goods were a bit costlier, if their products were produced domestically. But to promote their products under the guise of being domestic while they're made in China is inexcusable.
And really, their cast iron pans are nice. I use several of them and like them a lot. I assume the reasoning behind the coated pans being made elsewhere is because they lack the necessary equipment for enamel coating, but it's still a bit silly to state how proud they are to be an American company in Tennessee in one scene, and pushing their foreign made product in another.
@XDIfYoureRebelEnough I read reviews from major cooking magazines when I was shopping for a grill pan that compared the different manufacturers. The Lodge grill pan was not only the least expensive it was also rated the best. BTW, Lodge lasts more than a lifetime as it can be heirloom if a person takes care of it.
Great! I was thinking about making some major purchases of Le Creuset, thinking they'd last me a lifetime. Now, I'd rather by American. I trust you have a Web site? I'll soon find out. Your products look great! JM
@NoirMusic Yes it is and Lodge is still an American owned company overseeing quality control in China. With how the US economy and jobs ar hurting so much here, if I was going to buy enamal cast iron cookware (I own the traditional cast iron) I'd still go Lodge.
it performs just as good as the $280 Le Creuset...... but the price makes it superior by far.....

Looks good but I had to go with Le Creuset and was on sale from $350 to $175.but had to settle for red not orange.
