  • Liquid Gold LOVE IT

  • One of the best songs ever written sung by one of the best singer ever.

Wriiten by Ivy Jo Hunter and the genius that is Stevie Wonder - Ivy Jo Hunter does a good version which is on you tube.

  • a great singer....

  • Man, he was GORGEOUS back then!!! He still looks great and has a fantastic stage presence but back then he was really SWEET!!

  • I had to listen to that again. Paul really actually sang the shit out of that!!

  • Wonderful performance of this song. PR did it justice. Hell of a singer. No good white singers any more that I can think of. Maybe Chris Robinson.

  • His voice never ceases to give me goose-bumps!!

  • Paul is amazing, I've seen him live twice once with Bad Company and once solo and he's just fantastic live. Can't wait to see him again in April. He did a great job on this song.

  • Nice version....The interesting thing is that Leslie Uggams did a version of this song in 1972 that has this same arrangement and is in the same key! That is version is up on You Tube...

  • Paul Rodgers is the best singer in rock alive, one of the best ever! :)

  • what a sexy voice and hair!

  • Paul Rodgers is still on top of his game. Amazing singer, a true classic!

  • Nice. Great voice and great song but PR singing Motown is not a perfect fit. He is a rock singer soaked through British blues. This was fun to listen to, though.

  • I like your voice!

  • he is the man

  • Okay now i have a question.. I really never have heard of this guy... SO UM.. is he good in concert..?

  • @LadyMzBug Paul is a true rock legend, have you ever heard of the band "Free" or "Bad Company"? Paul Rodgers fronted them. He's also done 2 world tours with Queen as well as bring out an album with them. Look up "Free - Alright Now", Paul Rodgers sings it.

  • @rockerstar101 Seen Paul twice, once with Queen and once with Bad Company, the best thing ever :) and it's refreshing to know that some people are not ignorant to how much of legend Paul Rogers is. I loved how with Queen, he didn't try to imitate Freddie and well and truly brought his own style to the table, was actually amazing to see his own interpretation of Queen songs and then seeing Brian May and Roger Taylor doing Free and Bad Company stuff with Paul :)

  • @mercuryforeva yes i remeber hearing that Paul Rodgers was going on tour with the remaining members of Queen and i was like dont do it,then i heard it and was blown away!!!

  • @ufomsg1 For me, there couldn't of been a better collaboration :) The way they played a range of Queen, Free and Bad Company songs was just amazing!

  • this reminds me of a guy i used to date. needless to say it never worked out...but still love the song. Paul rodgers is a legend.

  • love his hair

  • He just looks like he is having a ball, time for a soul albumn Paul, show Rod how do it properly.

  • He just gets better everytime he opens his mouth ,the greatest singer on the planet {ever ,for me} fantastic upload ,many, many thanks Free fan ,and by the way FREE are also the greatest band ever ,in nshort this mans a gift from GOD

  • What a voice, saw him last week at Wembley Arena

  • hmmm... i dont like it that much... the old free tunes are much better

  • Paul Rodgers is simly the greatest singer ive heard ,so easy on the ears .Have everything hes ever done ,and struggle with a favorite ,although be my friend isle of white has to be up there .Another great post .Thankyou all rodgers fans keep posting .

  • He is the best and always will be!!!!!!!!!!

The Voice thats what he is evry time and evry were oeeehhh he rocks my heart in Holland lol for many years now

  • also have to agree with mochitsuckiman....the backing vocals are terrible!!!!.........good thing that paul doesnt need them!!

  • Paul can sing anything!! I could listen to him 24/7. One of the greatest voices in RockNRoll!!

  • shit ,he could sing the phonebook and make it rock!

  • First of all, he looks great! Love the hair, glasses and clothes.I also love the fact that Paul can sing whatever it is he is feeling, no matter what the subject matter, no macho B.S.He isn't afraid to reveal his true feelings. Also important is the fact that he sings clearly, so that if you have never heard the song before, you can understand the lyrics. (Very important, but also rare.) Beautiful, Paul! Kudos to you!

  • a real man isn't afraid to tell his woman he loves her

  • i love paul and everything he does and im a huge motown fan but this is not his style, its too fast, this doesnt work with his voice, motown is softer and hes a rock and blues singer, i think if he slowed it down a bit you could appreciate the soul in his voice.

  • I agree,it would have had more effect at a slower tempo. This was a TV production though,so the tempo might have been set at this to fit within time constraints.

  • yes youre probably right, still ,like someone said on here he could sing the telephone book and i would still love it, but i do prefer his ballads at a slower pace when you really get to appreciate his georgousl voice.

  • He could do a whole album of soul classics.

Perhaps the next PR project ?

    He did a Hendrix project.

He did a Muddy Waters project.

He's done a few solo albums.

He's played in a few top, top bands (the very topmost).

  • PR and Motown. What more can I ask for!

  • This is the dog's.

  • you seem to have contradicted your previous comment here?

  • Not at all. To be referred to as the 'dog's' is a compliment. As in 'the dog's b*ll*cks'? ;-)

  • ok, sorry, but i only know this as a detrimental comment, things must have changed since my time!! :-)

  • No problem, Pussycatfeathers. ;-)

  • What ! Lemmy have you got your head in a bucket. Motorhead present a wall of sound to the audience. Your lucky if you hear one clear syllable from the man.

Lovely guy though, used to hang around with him and his crowd in the middle to late 70's

  • He did a wonderful job with this song. Brilliant.

  • Paul é o melhor cantor que eu já ouví e ví!

Paul is the best singer i ever heard and saw!

  • kidzsanlorenzo big lol at your comment ....cant even compare the 2 lemmi is good at drinkin and smokin and the occasional tune well if that what ya wanna call em ...ace of spades was about his best effort imo ....but paul v lemmy ..na naaa

  • lemmy the Voice!!!!!!!

  • Yeah yeah he is good. But surely only Steve Perry (or John Farnham) can be considered "The Voice" :)

  • the title "the voice" was attributed to paul rodgers long before anyone heard of steve perry or john farnham (who, by the way i also think is terrific) and he deserves the title, he is not only good...he is the BEST!!!

  • Paul Rodgers: THE VOICE

  • The song was written by Stevie Wonder for The four tops in 1966. when he was only 15 years old.

  • He's so amazing <3

  • is this the artist that sings in eminems - beautiful??

  • Yes. Paul Rodgers, also known as The Voice. Been in bands like Free, Bad Company and The Firm.

Recently worked with Queen between 2004-2008, and did a fantastic job.

The sample is taken from a Queen+Paul Rodgers concert in Sheffield 2005. The song is called Reaching Out.

  • chhheerrssssss pal :D:D

  • No wonder he's called The Voice!!!

  • Paul Rodgers is one of the five best vocalist ever.

  • i love paul singing this kind of music, he has the best voice ever and this is my all time favourite stuff, one of my favourite songs from that time was marvin gayes "heard it through the grapevine", they just dont make music like this anymore....but as someone said here, paul could sing the telephone book and it would still be superb!

  • What a voice. The guy could sing a phone book and make it have soul.

  • WTF is this

  • AWSOME

    10/10

    Laney

  • Never heard this track before.A bit different than Paul's usual style, but it's cool to see him do a bit of Motown style.

  • Paul is the best - I love this performance.

  • lol, I love Paul but the backing vocals just suck.

  • Paul is fantastic, I love him, he's voice is magic.....

  • Paul Rodgers is one of the all time greats! I was there that night and it was unbelievable to hear him sing these songs. Paul Rodgers doing a soul album would be a CLASSIC!...Otis Redding, Sam Cooke, Wilson Picket, Aretha...This is his roots...you can hear it in all his Bad Co & Free music. Thanks for posting this...to top it all of he is one of the nicest guys in rock n roll. he hung out at Harmonie Park for the rehearsals and was a joy to be around! God Bless Paul Rodgers!

  • the best voice EVER.

  • it's different...i always thought of him as being a "rock hard" kind of guy and then he sings this? wonders never cease...he's great with Free, Bad Company, the Firm, AND Queen!!!! this isnt quite his style but he's still such a great and talented frontman...

  • I agree, it is different. I'll listen to it once and not know if I like it ... then listen to it again and I will then like it. It is kind of departure from his "rock hard" stuff, but I then listen to the man sing here and watch him perform and it actually is pretty good. Whatta great voice.

  • This is the frist time I've seen this, it's great! Like a fine wine, Paul Rodgers just keeps getting better and better. Also, rest in peace Levi Stubbs. Your music and memory will live in our hearts forever. Thanks for posting this.

  • I guess that would be IYAO (in your ASSHOLE opinion) ...

  • paul stanleys a fucking glamed up joke, rodgers is a great blues hard rock "real" vocalist, how many top vocalist lists do you see paul stanley in,er NONE

  • New queen album is good....

  • agree - Marvin Gayes version which is on "From the Vaults" motowm compilation album was the song of my first love and it always brings back good memories -someone please post it

  • I will say this till the day I die, Paul Rodgers is the greatest voice, THE VOICE in Rock History. Maybe not the biggest pipes, but he has the most pleasing sounding voice.

  • Nobody can touch Marvin Gayes version of this song, somebody put it on youtube please

  • I loved his old teeth - they had character! Crooked teeth are sexy - perfectly straight teeth look like dentures - why does everyone want to look like the Osmonds? Shudder.

  • is there anything this man can't sing?

  • eh .. no

  • This is great. I love how he came alive once the Four Tops came out on stage1 LOL!

  • Wow... Hes amazingly sexy! I dont know what else to say. He takes my breath away.

  • I would love to have the audio to download to my ipod! This is beautiful ~ just like Paul!

  • I can send it to you.

  • superb version mr rodgers but levi and the tops is still the best

  • I'm a devoted fan of The Band but wanted to hear this song with the older 1966 version of The Four Tops, when I stumbbled here and no regrets, honestly it's so beautiful and emotive that Paul Rodgers feeling and his band even made me cry a little ;-(

  • Excellent. Well done.

  • IL faut etre francais

  • i love music wit a sax its soooo sexy .....lush sound, nice song

  • cant believe it!! 2 legends from different genres...mind you he always had soul! Keep on keepin on Paul...we love you x

  • Great performance of Paul. I'm a huge Four Tops fan and this version is incredible !

  • The greatest rock singer since Frankie Miller. But - it is a hairpiece, guys, no doubt about it! Check out "Fire and Water" with Geoff Whitehorn on guitar on YouTube and check Paul's hairline. Also front cover of Paul's "Now" album - yep, receding hairline. Google Paul's pics from the mid-90's and see for yourself. He is worth a few million, so he deserves the best hairweave/piece that money can buy. I still think he is a great singer - let it all fall (I mean hang) out, man!

  • That's like not knowing about Shakespeare until you see "merchant of venice" with Al Pacino.

  • Was this the only song Paul performed during the concert?

  • No. He also performed "Love Music." He did a great job on that one as well but I prefer this song.

  • I feel bad that I really did not "discover" Paul as a solo until this performance, but now I am fan. The man can sing!

  • I also feel bad that I didn't discover Paul until he join Queen. He is absolutely fantastic. Looking forward for the new album. Can't wait!!

  • Voice of a God.

  • The greatest voice ever that is Paul Rodgers...Richie

  • 何回見てもかっこいい!鳥肌モノです。

  • great vocals and hairpiece

  • wrong... Paul lives 2 miles from me... and thats his hair

  • On the side maybe but the top`s a weave . Check out older photos his hair was thining and receeding in the late 90`s . I have seen him live many times and his hair had seriously receeded by the time of his Electic album in 2000. In fact if you check out Electric promo photos his hairline was 1-2" back from where it is now !!!

Since then he has miraculously managed to reverse years of receeding and indeed his hairline has grown forward

OH MY GOD IT`S A MIRACLE ! LOL

  • With his voice who gives a crap about his hair

  • Exactly. He's also gotten into shape in the last 10-15 years and had his teeth fixed since the Free days. He looks GREAT!

  • thanks for this, just witness paul and the band 6/30 in mt.clemens, mi it was a rock and roll fantasy! and it was alll FREE. more peace and love to you who love to rock!!!

  • very good infact very great

  • different and very well done.

  • Freakin awesome

    *sigh*

  • Nice...
