  • Horse= car....squeeze your heels=starting the car....guide with reins=using your steering weel...turn with reins=turn the steering weel...I didn't know I could learn how to drive too! Great video!! And your horse is VERY pretty!=) I was just kidding about the car part..xD That is a good way to put it though. :)

  • I think it is quite informative and well explained. hank you. Nice horse by the way.

  • You are a butiful ridder but i didn't find your information very helpfull for my horse.

  • Could you do a video on how to properly CUT a mane so it looks more like it has been pulled, like you have done with the horse in this video? I have a very sensitive horse that has to be drugged in order to pull his mane and have considered cutting it but I can't find any information on how to do it properly. Thanks!

  • Yes - this video does miss the seat completely. My gg is working on just responding to my seat, so that the horse can go and come back without the rider having to look untidy.

Vahyat - if you want natural dont ride a horse. would a horse in pain take the bit into his own mouth without me doing anything - no

    - didnt like the one small reminder and then jab jab with spurs

should have been seat then leg Then spur

Do like the vid tho nice 'Red' horse -Love um (Yes chestnut) its a joke :)

  • Take the damn pressure off that bit for just a second. That horse is in constant pain. If you're a real horsewoman lets see you ride without your fancy bits and spurs. Ride in just a halter. You will develop such a better relationship with your horse. Not one based solely on pain.

  • @vahyat Riding in a halter is, yes, a great way to develop a relationship with your horse but some people like me want to do dressage which has to be done in a bit and above elementary has to be done in a double bridle. This horse is "on the bit" correctly which means that the rider is only using her legs and seat to achieve the 'look' but only using her hand aids (which are very soft) to enforce it!

  • @vahyat and also this horse is doing Grand Prix dressage which means that is has muscles developed and used to being in a frame. IT IS NOT BASED SOLELY ON PAIN! Don't be stubborn... Admit that there is other ways to get results out of your horses different to your method and they aren't 'right or wrong' just different ways to achieve whatever success someone wishes to achieve.

  • @Reggyroos Whatever. You are surrounded by people who are obsessed with getting ribbons and awards. Its never about the horse in circles like dressage or any other equestrian "sports". A bit is used to cause pain. It is designed for it. It is a piece of metal against a thin layer of gum tissue on sensitive bone. I can't believe anyone can still question that. Just because it works doesn't mean its right. Its not good for the horse. But its always about your image, ego, and awards anyways.

  • @vahyat Firstly dressage isn't going in circles, your thinking of hacking. A good bit that is the correct size, and ridden by a rider who is not jabbing at the mouth and causing them pain, will not hurt a horse. I respect the ways of natural horsemanship and they are great for building a partnership which your horse, but it is not the only way. And it is completely fine for the horse, they except a bit willingly and it does not hurt them. Please do your research before leaving stupid comments.

  • From this video she looks like a good rider. Not everyone can be blessed with a perfect body. It's not about how skinny you are, it's about the quality of your riding.

  • does anyone not think shes to big for the saddle or maybe it just looks it :L x

  • do all riders have huge lower bodies? like holy pear shape! good god. i hope i dont end up like that!!! hahah

  • @clearcrystalblues Thats rude, your calling her fat? huh aren't yuh??? I bet your not any skinnier...

  • @clearcrystalblues Um sorry i miss read your comment, but it just sounded rude. Sorry dont have to get all in my face about it.

  • @xHunterJumperForever i understand hun, no worries :)

  • @clearcrystalblues no they do not

  • @graleh thats gooooooooooooooood.

  • @horsesrule53 That is how the dressage thing over the bit there

  • That horse is beautiful:) And this video is helpful. But I do have a question- when I put my leg on Buster, the horse I ride, he does wake up, but he also tries to rip the reins out of my hands. (Cheeky little horse. XD) Does anyone know how to get that habit controlled or stopped?

  • @SkyCabin6 (rip out of hands term) my horse used to do the same wha i do is when she tries to do that i either bend over and pop her in the nose and if she does good after the pop you will rub that spot to let her kno that its good to not yank on the reins..... if that didnt work i just pull back hard enough to make her stop cause most horses dont like it and once she was good you give her a pat:) i do not abuse my horses i just give them a little wake up call i love my horses dearly:)

  • @SkyCabin6 um no 'professional jumper.' inflicting pain on their mouth and muzzle is not the way to go! Half halting into a transition is what i do. while applying leg pressure, a conact in the mouth prohibits the thought of pulling the reins. if you do not allow enough head room for the horse to extend his neck, then the rein pulling is virtually impossible. hope this helps!

  • @SkyCabin6 The best way to do it without pulling back on the reins is TO USE YOUR SEAT! (something alot of people forget to do)

Sit tall and use your tummy muscles, strenghen your core, then when you feel the horse wanting to pull think as if you want to dig your butt and sit bones into the saddle and a bit forward, if he doesn't react use a small reminder with the rein and when he releases you release your pressure and praise.

Soon he'll start to react, it takes a bit of time :)

  • I love how she smiles so much :) Makes me have a positive attitude. I just have the problem with relaxing my horse and stopping him. He is in front of the leg, just hard to get back. The transitions will be extremely helpful, and have been extremely helpful!

  • yess first comment :)))))) and good clip =)
